actually, a lot of people acknowledged that the interviewer was wrong cause why would he not prepare enough for this so ofc carats took action and the interview was deleted but ofc some toxic armys blamed Vernon for his answer even though he handled very well while others supported them but I agree with what you said svt can't be compared to bts is bts and svt is svt both of them are so different from each other and the fact that this also happens with other groups like txt,skz, etc....

You guys are so right about that interviewer being ignorant and disrespectful! As both an army and a carat myself, Idk why Vernon's response was seen as controversial or something. It is true that BTS wasn't what they are right now back when Seventeen was debuting. BTS got their first win the year Seventeen debuted with "I Need U" (2015) but before that disbandment was a potential. As an army since 2015 I remember the disbandment talk and I was so happy BTS finally got a win and more attention. I remember the times when BTS wasn't as huge, even in 3rd gen back then they weren't the most famous and didn't have the biggest fandom - I'm pretty sure Exo was the most famous 3rd gen group for a long time. Also, BTS and Seventeen only debuted two years apart, it's weird to say one of them expected to be like the other or looked up to the other when they are in the same generation of kpop (3rd gen) and even the members are similar ages. If Seventeen debuted in 2020 or after, that would maybe make sense to ask if they looked up to BTS' super-fame and wanted/expected to be like them, but they didn't so it makes no sense in terms of timeline, because like Vernon said BTS were not the international legends that they are now. It would still be disrespectful to ask a question like that to a 2020 group but at least it would make sense with the timeline. As an army since 2015 I would say BTS reached super-fame in 2019 and after (yes they were recognized by US media and deemed "globally famous" in 2017 with DNA but they weren't yet the status they have now, as almost household-names). Seventeen was already an established group by the time BTS reached super-fame. Both groups have been in the industry a long time now and both deserve respect. They are two of the hardest working groups I know of since they both started from the bottom with companies that were small and not rich, and both were the groups that "saved" their respective companies. Also if anything, both groups looked up to 2nd gen or before when deciding to be an idol/training/debuting, not to each other. Anyway, people shouldn't compare groups or imply that one wants to be like the other, it's really disrespectful. As an army it saddens me to see toxic army comments (in the video hating) on Vernon or saying he is wrong/ungrateful, when he is absolutely correct and was speaking for himself not for them. Also, BTS and Seventeen have been friends for years so I hate to see this animosity. There's nothing wrong with what Vernon said; what he says does not deny BTS' success or disrespect them, it is simply true that BTS wasn't always this famous and internationally successful. Even as an army I can admit that. The question is what was truly disrespectful.

It's true 2019 is the most peak season of their success (BTS) and when coronavirus happens it's like more more a peak season of their success because they are more way recognize by people,it's become more and more people got into K-pop. That's when people got bored they do this kind of reaction videos.😂

there's nothing wrong with what vernon said during the interview and most armys admitted it. Because svt debuted 2015 and bts wasnt as big as they are now back then. The interviewer obviously didnt do their research, cause BTS started from scratch. And like svt, there were rumours of disbandment until I Need U got recognized and then they boom globally with DNA.

Same with suchita interview of hoshi...i was really dissapointed how hoshi belittled himself and keep saying "BTS paved the way" seriously just so they don't get attacked by armys...he even said how they wanted to be like BTS...i mean BTS were struggling at their debute time on the contrary svt were doing REALLYyyy well!! That was a bummer...humility is a good thing but hoshi belittled himself too much as if svt isn't a big group themselves !! I always thought seventeen had great aspirations to not be like ANYONE and they were doing it!! Until hoshi said that..i felt really sad like all these years hard work and he discredited himself his team just to please army.. Vernon's answer was absolutely true and i strongly agree with that but hoshi put a question mark on that vernon's statement!! idk i love them a lot but something did change after thaat !

Like most KZreadrs had never heard of BTS in 2013-2015, the main people reacting to them at that time were already fans and already into kpop, not just discovering kpop through BTS. Of course Seventeen was not looking up to BTS in that waywhen they were about to debut because firstly BTS is in the same gen as Seventeen (3rd gen) and were around the same age, and secondly BTS was not at the international super-fame status until Seventeen was already like 4 years in the industry. Sure, arguments can be made that BTS were the kpop group who broke out in the US and that obviously helped other kpop groups do so after because the general US public had now "gotten used" to a kpop group being that well known, but it's not like BTS did that immediately. It doesn't make sense in terms of timeline for Seventeen to look up to BTS' super-fame when they weren't at that level when Seventeen debuted. It took a while for that to happen. Both BTS and Seventeen have been around longer than some people realise.

samuel is the OG maknae of svt, that's why dino is rarely acting like a maknae, so in that conversation with seungkwan, sk told dino that he can be a baby at times bc his hyungs really think dino is so mature for him being the maknae of svt but also at the same time that sk is one of the maknae but bc of his role/image on svt he rarely acting like a maknae, that really hurt my heart when they have those struggles

Probably none of 3rd gen kpop artists began training thinking "i want to be like BTS and they are my big role models" because they were at a similar level in terms of age, years since debut and fame. 3rd gen idols probably looked up to 2nd gen idols, who already had been in the industry a while or were already very famous by the time the 3rd gen started training e.g. Girl's Generation, Shinee, Big Bang, Wonder Girls, etc. Those groups debuted ~5 years before most 3rd gen groups, sometimes while 3rd gen idols were still kids. It thus also makes more sense to say a 4th gen group looked up to BTS or another 3rd gen group while training or debuting because it makes sense with the timeline, but saying a 3rd gen group looked up to another 3rd gen group makes no sense, especially since like I said BTS was not as famous back then. Most of Seventeen members were training in the 2011 to 2015 period, then they debuted. BTS wouldn't have even existed until 2013, hadn't had a first win until 2015 the year Seventeen debuted and only reached "global fame" (basically just recognized by US media) near the end of 2017 and then super-fame in 2019. Seventeen was already well established by then. I was army before I was a carat but I'm sorry, people cannot say that Seventeen looked up to BTS or vice versa. They are the same generation, that makes no sense. What Vernon said about BTS not being as famous back then as they are now is not incorrect or disrespectful at all. It shouldn't be seen as controversial in any way either, it's simply the truth. Seventeen have been around longer than some people realise, literally 8 years this year. And it's actually disrespectful to even ask them that question when both groups debuted in the same era, it's not like Seventeen went into training thinking of being like BTS when BTS hadn't even debuted until mid 2013 and were not the legends they are now. That's like if they asked a group that debuted in 2017 if they wanted to be like Seventeen which only debuted 2 years earlier, it doesn't make sense.

People seem to get confused. Being an introvert doesn't necessarily mean you are always shy and quiet and being an extrovert doesn't necessarily mean yiu are always loud and talkative. It's just about whether social interactions tire you out or give you more energy. Yes many introverts tend to identify as shy or quiet and many extroverts identify with being loud or talkative but that's not exactly what defines your being either. An introvert be could also be talkative and comfortable in a social situation sometimes but you will be tired out after, whereas an extrovert gains energy from interacting with other people. An introvert can even have lots of friends, in theory as many as an extrovert has, but they will probably prefer less frequent contact with people because social situations tire them out easily. It's not about how loud or confident or chaotic you are that makes you an extrovert, you just enjoy socialising and it doesn't tire you out that much. Introverts can be hella chaotic and loud especially around people they know well and are comfortable with, but they get tired more easily than the extroverts in their social group and especially when meeting strangers they get even more tired after than with friends. Extroverts will also be more comfortable seeking out and initiating social interaction even ic it happens to be with a large group of people or with strangers. E.g. extrovert Seungkwan tried to crack a joke with Seventeen and Twice (22 people in total). Whereas Hoshi has mentioned that he feels tired out after being really involved in social interactions or on variety shows. That's why Hoshi is technically an introvert. Especially based on quizzes, which if you notice, never ask about how loud and confident you are but instead ask how you feel in various social scenarios and how you deal with problems. Hope this helps.
