Just a FYI I would take the range finder off shoulder I use to keep mine there had a tom spot the lens shinning an took off on me ..

Nice hunt. I wish we had to put up with the cold weather here in Pa. Our season starts way too late. Not that it can't be done, but a great deal of the prime time is over...not to mention a couple weeks earlier would lessen the likelihood of dealing with the poison ivy!

I believe PA is the only state that truly cares about their turkey population and sets their dates based on the breeding cycle to allow the bulk of their breeder gobblers to breed and not kill em all out before peak breeding happens. Kudos to PA for that. I’ve hunted PA late May last two years and had INCREDIBLE hunts both times.

I've noticed lots of people are shooting yellow hull poison at lovesick birds.. Enjoyed the hunt.

Only reason I see to use a 12 gauge is if you already have one and dont want to buy another gun. Otherwise a 20 is more then enough to kill any bird, I shoot longbeard XR's, and can kill out to 50yds- TSS is even further .

What size choke do you use in the 20 ga my son is starting to turkey hunt with a 20

Just a turkey choke you should see them at your local bass pro or academy or wherever you go for hunting gear

@@samhogue7574 i had saw on a video that someone had out they mentioned something about a 555 didn't know if that was the diameter or a specific model by a company. We're going to be using a normal full choke for the time being and hoping for the best

@@woodrowsmith78 just go t your local sporting goods store and find a turkey choke that is compatible with your gauge and manufacturer and you should be ok. Full choke will mess more meat up but it will still work
