Best Secret Tourist Spot in Ella, Sri Lanka!

We had the most incredible day exploring Ella, Sri Lanka! After starting the day with a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast, we visited one of the best tourist spots in Ella - Little Adam's Peak. BUT, even more exciting was the secret tourist attraction called the Dogs of Ella! We had never heard of this charity and tourist activity before, but we are so glad we visited and can share the experience with you all!
Starting our day of exploring, we were served an incredible traditional Sri Lankan breakfast of dhal, coconut sambol, Sri Lankan pancakes, and string hoppers. Sri Lanka food is some of our favourite in the world, and they do an incredible breakfast!! We had our breakfast at the accommodation we're staying at tonight which is called Idyll Cottages. If you'd like to book this cottage, call Anil (the owner) via Whats'App at +94 071 911 3701.
Then it was off to one of the most famous tourist spots in Ella, Little Adam's Peak (sometimes called Mini Adam's Peak). The hike was actually really simple, and after about 20 minutes we reached the first peak. Little Adam's Peak is a great place to visit, especially for sunrise! We tried to get there for sunrise in the morning but it was too foggy so we went back to sleep, but if you are visiting Ella and get a clear morning, we highly recommend going to Little Adam's Peak for sunrise! It's a gorgeous spot.
Afterwards we got to visit the best secret tourist spot in Ella; the Dogs of Ella! They are a charity that helps Sri Lankan street dogs who are in need of care. This charity is doing such important work in the Ella area. Not only are they helping sick and injured dogs, but they are spaying and neutering as many dogs as they can afford. This really is the way forward to deal with the street dog problem in Sri Lanka (which is quite extreme), and Dogs of Ella are doing an amazing job to make an impact with their small team and limited funds! If you have a few extra dollars to donate they (and we) would be eternally grateful!! Click here to see donation options: linktr.ee/dogs_of_ella

Hey there! We are Nicole and Mico and in March 2021, we quit our jobs, sold our belongings, and began traveling the world! We never thought we'd be making travel vlogs on KZread, but after realizing that we had a unique opportunity to share our adventure and make the world feel more familiar and inviting to anyone watching, we took the leap and picked up the camera! We hope our videos show how wonderful, delicious, and friendly the world can be.

  • @varunagoonasekera7329

There's a yellow liquid gravy curry that gets put on top of the string hoppers before eating that makes the string hoppers much more delicious. The person who is eating puts this on the string hoppers from a different dish. This yellow liquid makes the string hoppers more moist to eat. I don't think you had this with your meal. You have to eat the dahl curry, the coconut sambol, and possibly a meat curry with the string hoppers all at once for this dish to be very delicious. Next time. You don't have to tip anybody in Sri Lanka. It's not required that you give any money for any hospitality that you receive there; just walk away. You have to have milk tea with your food in that area. The most beautiful dogs in the world are in Sri Lanka!! Excellent video by the way!
