The Triumph Scrambler 400X is a motorcycle that’s perfect for commuting, weekend rides, and even some light off-roading. It’s based on the Speed 400 but gets a more off-road-oriented design and suspension. The engine is smooth and powerful, the suspension is comfortable and capable, and the handling is agile and responsive. Plus, it has a classic Scrambler design with modern touches that make it stand out from the crowd.
In terms of design, the Scrambler 400X features a round headlight with LED DRLs, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a curvy fuel tank with knee recesses and a tank pad, and a side-slung exhaust. The bike has a low kerb weight of just 165 kg which makes it easy to handle in traffic or on twisty roads.
The engine is a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 399cc parallel-twin that produces 43 hp at 9,500 rpm and 37 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. The suspension setup consists of 41mm upside-down forks at the front and twin shocks at the rear with adjustable preload. The brakes are single discs at both ends with ABS as standard.

My brother and I recently took test ride of both the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400x. We observed a significant difference in the braking performance, with the Scrambler falling short compared to the Speed. We were somewhat disappointed and speculated that it might be due to the front MRF tyres, suspecting that cheaper brake pads might have been used. Surprisingly, none of the renowned reviewers we checked had mentioned this brake issue in their reviews. However, you team @RevNitro did an excellent job by highlighting this aspect! Keep up the good work! ❤

I think it is done with intent. Scrambler cannot be having a tight braking system due to the fact that this could be taken off-road, a braking system with full bite force in a scram sort puts the rider at risk when going off road or adventuring. I understand that the situation is definitely different when riding on roads or highways so compared to speed 400 which is a roadster you can feel comfortable at experimenting with high speed and have the conference of the brakes activating and stopping on point meanwhile Scram would be comfortable cruising at 100-110 and that's the speed the scrams brake would be comfortable stopping the bike. ( I am not a pro biker, this is a subjective opinion - please feel free to disagree)

I have seen quite a few speed 400 with removed left siide engine case removed. Upon enquoring, it has gear shift return issues, other words gear box shifting isues. I feel not worth a coomanding price tag.
