Fellow snakehead angler here in Md man. Nice content! My fav rod is the abu Ike serious as well but my snapped on a big snake sadly. Now I moved to the medium heavy avid inshore. I do miss my Ike rod tho I was getting pretty convinced the snakes just liked the paint job lol

Tell us about what you use that tying vise for. Bucktail jigs and similar ? Or, do you actually throw flies ?

I kinda use it for everything lure wise, jigs, lure repair, and I have friends who fly fish and tie flies here. I have fly fished a small amount but I mostly focus on baitcasting and light tackle spinning.

Can we catch snakehead and transport to St Marys County and dump them in the Potomac. I am tired of driving to Blackwater.

The Medium Heavy rods would be 7 - 28grams and the heavy rods would be 10 - 40 grams. Really any spinning rod in the Medium Heavy Fast action class paired with 15 - 20lb braid is good for snakehead. Shimano has the SLX Spinning in 7ft Medium Heavy which should get the job done.

@@zmrcfishingvideos yes bro I got ur point. Actually I'm not talking about lure weight written in fishing rod. I'm asking what is best weight of rod only not reel's weight. There r some MH rod have more rod weight like 240g so some rod would be like 160g of weight. So for snakehead what should be best Rod's weight

@@AnubhavAnkitGeorge the weight of the rod itself isn’t as important as the balance of the rod. Which would be when you hold the rod near the reel seat or just past it and it lays flush with neither end tipping. The closer to the reel seat the better the balance. Which will have a more positive impact on rod feel and time being able to fish with it. But personally the lighter the rod the better. Shimano Zodias is 4.5oz which would be 127.5 grams. I’d say 127 - 190 would be good. Really you’d have to feel the rod and decide if the balance is good before buying.
