@@oliverbentley4524 okay so you don’t understand the history of punk then. The 76-77 movement in mainstream uk wasn’t just the sex pistols and blaring guitars. It was a complex mixture of shock culture, music, art, fashion. Pub rock mainstays like dury and the 1010ers (strummer), and eddie and the hot rods had attitude and embodied what was at the time a punk ethos, do it ourselves, fuck the rest of em, do what we want. Punk rock is not the same as “punk”, bands likr dury’s paved the way for the funky post punk, and influenced so many other bands born in and after 76/77. Ian Dury and the blockheads are a quintessential part of UK punk history, and uk music history and melon not knowing them shows his bias, he knows london calling which has the blockheads keyboard player on it for gods sake.

That's a very misleading description

Ian Dury and The Blockheads are classic, that record is worth checking out. As are their singles like Rhythm Stick, Reasons to be Cheerful, and their Rockpalast live album.
