I have very dry skin, so would never opt for powder foundation, except for a recent trip to Greece and Turkey, where I anticipated (and got) very hot weather and was trying to pack as lightly as possible. Tried the L'Oreal Infallible powder foundation on the advice of my sister. Could not have worked better!! Stayed put ALL day long. Beautiful coverage. Took the place of my normal liquid foundation, concealer, setting powder, and accompanying brushes.

The timeliness of this video for me is astounding. I just finished watching you powder foundation videos from six years ago and just ordered the MAC powder foundation. Also, the technique you taught for applying foundation has proven to be a major game changer for me. I tried it yesterday with the Fenty foundation and was blown away by how much better it looked on my skin than how I had been applying it. My husband agreed, telling me I didn't look like I was wearing any foundation at all, so another BIG thank you for helping me out so much.

Hello! 😊 I'm in my mid-50's & my skin is normal to dry with moderate to severe roseaca (worse in the sun & heat) & my face perspires easily & often. My ride or die is Laura Geller's Baked Balance & Brighten marbled powder foundation. I've been using her products well over 15 years now. I wear it over a water-resistant tinted mineral SPF 50 & those together give me close to medium coverage, & that helps control the perspiration too. You see, I need her flexability with the color and touch-ups are a dream. I also use & enjoy her baked bronzer, baked blush, marbled lipsticks, eyeliners, etc! I guess you could call me a devotee of hers!😅 I really hope some of your subscribers/viewers try her baked marbled powder products. I'll bet they're going to be pleasantly surprised.😊

PUR powder foundation is hands down the best. I wish that all the reviews of powder foundations recently would include PUR's. I think everyone would be impressed at how much of a contender it is. Creamy, non-greasy, long-lasting, great shades (for my skin anyway, light neutral...they used to have 100 shades but I believe that has been cut back by now). I've been using it for over 5 years, tried all the others, none have even compared, for me. Thanks for bringing back the idea of powder foundation....and please do try PUR just to see where it would hold up against what you've already tried. Would be so interested to know what you think! :)

Hello! I used Guerlain powder foundation for years very successfully but when I got into my early 60s ( I’m 64 now, dry sensitive skin) even if I prepped my skin exactly as I always did when I wore this foundation, it started to show the pores on my nose and chin BIG TIME. I was devastated. I loved using this. Any idea what I can do to make it work again? And why did it stop working? Getting so frustrated about it. Thank you. I love your reviews. So glad I finally subscribed!

Great review! I love powder foundation, especially because we travel quite a lot for work. I like the L'Oreal and also Too Faced, but I may give some of the others a try to compare. I also would be interested in what primers and setting sprays you use with these. 😊

Your recommendations have helped me greatly and I thank you. The pores on my nose and cheek areas are visible no matter what type foundation I use including Laura Geller Baked Balance and Brighten, ELF Soft Glam Satin Foundation and About Face The Performer. I like these foundations a lot and would appreciate finding products to blur large pores. I have tried primers that claim to erase pores under foundations but have had no luck. Can you help ? PLEASE Thanks for all you do

As another viewer mentioned, the timeliness of this video was spot on. Recommend that you do an annual powder foundation roundup this time of year….it’s hot. Foundation melts right off. As your neighbor (uptown), I often rely on your input due to our shared climate. Would be interested in your thoughts on the Chantecaille powder foundation. I know it’s pricey :/ They have testers at Blue Mercury on Magazine

It's definitely a bit dryer/cakier? Plus the shade range is attrocious. 1N00 then a jump to 1N06. Really? I need a 1N01. I tried 1RN2 and it's porky pig pink and I can't bother w/yellow (which is good for my redness) because that starts at 4. I thought it was just Australia getting half the shades like usual but no. Their US website is the same. They think that's acceptable in 2024. Warm comes in at level 4 and there's 5 shades missing in neutral. Yay. Of course deep skintones are just "bye, sorry".

Perfect timing. With the hot weather, my everyday routine is skincare , tinted Sunscreen and a dusting of powder foundation . But im needing a soft matte formula for my 55yo combo oily skin and a brand that matches my dark tan skin. Sounds like Fenty will work for me. Would you still recommend Wander powder foundation?

I've tried the Laura Geller powder foundations, but they just didn't work that well for me. My favorite powder foundation of all time is the It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation. It lasts well and never settles in my fine lines. It retails for $49, but they run 25% - 30% off sales on their website from time to time.

I have the Fenty and really like it. I have dry skin. I do quite a bit of prep prior. Along with other products, I use Tatcha water cream moisturizer, two thin coats, letting it absorb in between, prior to applying sunscreen and then the Fenty. It is really nice but I have to have quite a bit of time to use it because of the skin prep. I have a question. I recently rediscovered No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced All-in-one foundation with an SPF of 50+. If that is used amply when applying, is there enough SPF to use this without another sunscreen in your opinion?

I would pour 1/4 tsp into a measuring spoon and see if you're comfortable wearing that much foundation. That would be too much foundation for me personally. It requires a lot of foundation to adequately protect from the sun, which is why we usually need to wear it underneath :)

IDK for sure, but I'm crossing my fingers since a similar thing happened with my beloved Bobbi Brown corrector and then it was restocked. It's marked as a best seller on Fenty's site and only four random shades are OOS there. Maybe it's similar to what happens with a lot of Makeup by Mario products often. Hopefully it's just a stocking issue!

They've had multiple Fenty sales in Australia since Christmas at Sephora (it's a bit overboard compared to usual) and the powder has been 30% off multiple times (that's how I've ended up with 3 shades of it - still no shade match). Given she's not bothered to even add the newer half shades to that amazing /sarcasm shade range I'm not certain of its future.

@taranullius9221 I've noticed that every time Sephora actually has something at 50% off it's usually an indicator that they are trying to get the stock gone. Sephora never does that much off.
