New to your channel moved to bay area California have not found a good 🍕 anywhere in the bay area it's I've always put in the garbage my husband has a big family here MY husband and go back to east coast to visit and 🍕.

I grew up in Boston and i am from an Irish family but i absolutely love Italian food ! I have traveled all over the US and to more then a dozen countries. The best pizza i have ever had was from Di Fara Pizza in Brooklyn NY. It is absolutely amazing and i encourage anyone who gets the chance to try it!

Oh yeah Di Fara is absolutely some of the best pizza in the county. If you’re still in the tri-state area Santillo’s in Elizabeth NJ is on that level. Maybe even a bit better to be honest.

Michael, I grew up in New York and New Jersey and in my teens ate pizza 4 or 5 times a week. I moved to LA and continued searching for comparable quality but was disappointed more times than not. I moved to Phoenix several years ago and have been pleasently surprised at the many great pizza joints here. You may have heard of Pizzeria Bianco which appears 1st or 2nd on a lot of polls for the best pizza nationally and there are 3 or 4 other great places within a mile of me and many more a little further away.

Sally's and Pepe's in New Haven has been voted the best in the country by quite a few people through the years that traveled the country tasting all the nations most popular pizza places. I haven't traveled all over but Sally's and Pepe's is hard to beat.

Definitely agree with Michael with that oil taste from the cheese....it might sound bad but that flavour is top notch 👌

I may be biased but in my travels I have yet to find thin crust pizza better than here in NYC. It's all about the water used in the dough. I recall there is/was places in Vegas and SoCal that imported NYC water to make their pies.

I live in England and must be one of the few who doesn't like pizza. For some reason everytime I tried it I was always sick afterwards so haven't had any for over 15 years now. Would love to be able to eat it but unfortunately it just doesn't agree with my stomach so am unable too. Its annoying when theres so many nice places that serve pizza whenever I go to london, Manchester, Newcastle etc. Love watching your videos Michael and think how you turned your life around is an inspiration to alot of younger people. I used to get into alot of trouble growing up and eventually got into taking and selling drugs after my partner lost our baby and passed away. Thanks to god I have managed to change my life for the better even tho I have hard days and always will I remember where I was and how it affected me and everyone I was close too.

I love how you get excited about this topic and pizza! I love pizza but I have never met someone that excited! This is fantastic and made my day!

I grew up in Illinois and I'm of German descent, but I do have a fondness of Italian cuisine; cuisines like spaghetti in particular. But pizza is definitely something that I always enjoyed. I mean I have eaten pizza from different pizzareas like Begger's, Domino's and Pizza Hut for that matter, but I do enjoy pizza in any other way.

Mr Franzese, you can try anchovies on the pizza....Yuuuummm. You'll love it. By the way, in the Greek salad, you add green pepper 🫑too, season with oregano, salt, a splash of red wine vinegar and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil 🫒.

Even if the pepperoni is slightly scorched it passes. Thanks for letting us know about this deal 🎉

There used to be a great pizza place in the Bronx, Vinnie's Pizza that has sadly closed. I love pizza with pepperoni, sausage, bacon and meatballs. Delish! I had great pizza when I visited Naples in 2015. The owner of the place reminded me of Bela Lugosi. Traditionally, the best pizzas are made in a brick oven.

Hey Michael! This is off the food subject a bit, but if you haven't already, you must see Equalizer 3 which takes place in Sicily and Italy. I think I enjoyed the scenery more than anything. BTW, my roots are from Supino and Napoli!

Lee’s tavern on Staten Island is famous for their clam pie. I couldn’t believe it either, but it is delicious.

Slices pizza is amazing.

I remember a pizza shop on Crossbay Blvd in Howard Beach right across the street from a sporting goods store b/c my mom took me over there to buy some football 🏈 equipment for Pop Warner

I’m not a pizza person and really didn’t care about it until a few years ago (had tried different kinds, including the very famous Joe’s pizza), when we stopped at this place in Ridgewood, NJ. It’s called Brooklyn Brick Oven Pizza (15 Oak st, Ridgewood NJ). So, now when the subject comes up about the best pizza in New York, that’s the place I recommend, even though it’s not in NYC.

I went to Seton Hall law school in Newark. About 3 blocks away is Queens Pizza II. Unreal.

Carmines in Palm Beach gardens has the best pizza I've come across, they use a coal fired brick oven that makes the perfect slice every time..!

I was at Slices in Downtown LA 2 years ago at this time. It was definitely good Michael.

Great that you're coming to Australia. You need to visit the Gold Coast. It's like the Miami of Australia. There's actually a place called Miami. But you need to see Surfers Paradise. It's the best place in Australia IMO.

Pizza Town in Elmwood Park NJ always had the best pizza, although it's been awhile since I've been up that way.

The Uno and the Due are deep dish pizza places on the near north side of Chicago-loaded with fresh tomatoes and house made Italian sausage and crustiest crust. Yum!

@@jetfryl9831 now they may be-but when i was growing up in chicago it was just Uno; then they opened the Due and their pizza was the greatest deep dish anywhere. Theres also Ginos East which is still great too.

Hello Michael, from one Italian to another, my Nona was from Napoli and would always go to L' Antica; the oldest pizzeria in Napoli: L' Antica da Michele. Their sons came to Hollywood and we all now have L' Antica da Michele in California. Don't know if you've been, but if not, try their Margherita. Or, try the absolute closest thing to Italia in pasta at Toscano's home. That would be my house! Anyway, be blessed. Is. 41:10

I have had Joes, I love Prince street’s spicy vodka grandma slice. Prince street has a LA location now. I have yet to try Patsy’s. Grimaldis is delicious. Lombardi’s is amazing. Going to try Chris Bianco’s spot in Los Angeles. LA also has L’antica pizzeria da Michele which is from Italy and established in 1870. Scarr’s Pizza is ran by Scarr Pimentel. He worked in NY pizzerias for about 10 yrs. Everything in his restaurant is organic as possible. He even mills his own flour and uses Chris Bianco’s tomatoes for his sauce. Did I mention that I love pizza?

Scarr’s is great Michael! If you’re ever able to go back to NYC it’s worth checking out.

London is home to excellent Italian food. Next time you come, you should visit Clerkenwell, the original "Little Italy", and Soho, home to "Bar Italia"...

Wooster Street in New Haven Connecticut has the best pizza. Pepe’s Pizza, Sally’s Pizza, Modern Pizza, the Spot are all great. My favorite is Pepe’s.

Sir, I visited Cuba in 2019... it is an amazing place and the people were awesome. Cuba should very wealthy.. As soon as you get off the boat/plane there is a smell that is going to take you back to your youth. The exhaust and the smoke stacks from their electric generators smells like 1965 ...sounds weird but i actually had memories of being a kid on the streets soon as i stepped foot in Havana. Smells are powerful.

You mentioned clams now I’m hungry!

We have an Italian pizzaiolo in my hometown and he makes crazy pizzas!! With Italian ingredients prosciutto from Parma, mozzarella buffala, parmigiano reggiano... Italian sausage...you name it.

Clams on pizza tastes great I have eaten pizza with clams on since I was little, it's common here in Sweden with clams on pizza alsowith shrimps on and also pizza with kebab on if you haven't tried it it's really good aswell! 😄

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You always mentioned how your dad liked to make Calzone for the family. You should put your dads Calzone on the menu at Slices in his memory. I'm sure it would go like crazy.

Now finding a good pizza place is my kind of adventure. ❤ I've had pizza in Northern Italy, Southern Italy, and many places in California where I live now. In the U.S., the mom and pop Italian restaurants operated by Italian American people are usually the best places, although I have to specify the way we like pizza which is different from standard American tastes. I like Italian style pizzas with less cheese (about 50% less cheese) and quality toppings. I once had pizza cooked in an old stone hearth at a hole in the wall pizza place outside of Naples, Italy. It came out of the oven looking burned, and I thought it was going to be terrible. It was incredibly delicious, best pizza in any restaurant ever! 😻 What I like the best is homemade pizza made by my wife. No restaurant and no machine can beat mama's fresh homemade pizza! 😻😻😻😻😻
