Mr Red White and Blue was written for a young veteran named Craig Carp that served our country. A true patriot. I was lucky enough to help him get a home with the Military Warriors Support Foundation. Mr Red White and Blue was written for him and ALL of our heroes that serve our country, for the families that miss them, and for those currently serving now. This is the perfect song to celebrate Independence Day (4th of July), Veterans Day, or Memorial Day.

"Mr. Red White and Blue"
Coffey
Lyrics:
Its the guts and its the glory, a hundred stripes a hundred stories
It's the pledge of Allegiance on the 4th of July
Its the handwritten letters from home,
its the sleepless nights alone
It's his newborn baby he left with his wife.
Mr Red White and Blue
Lay down his life
Mr Red White and Blue
For these Stars and Stripes
From the fields of Indiana
to the swamps of Louisiana
To the golden coast of Californ'
Uncle Sam's the only family he's got
His purple heartbeat wont stop
and his 18th birthday was the day he was born
Chorus
patriotic song, military song,

Coffey, thank you for your music. This song means so much to me. My son is an Army Vet that came home with severe PTSD. He served in the war 6 of his 8 years of service. He was a gunner. Jumped in at the age of 18 and is now 36. He has finally settled into life with a beautiful wife and her daughter and together they have a disabled son of 6 years old. All of that just to say how much I appreciate you! Even thru the tears ❤❤

Hey, man! This is to let you know that there likely are some mighty challenges ahead that might seem insurmountable at times, but a little triumph makes up for a lot of suffering leading up to it. The actual service is often a lot less noble and a lot less glamorous than the sheer idea of serving, but eventually, it will all boil down to your ''why''. Greetings from Germany!

Because one saved his life in Afghanistan. Nothing can take down a soldier ever. Many have given up their meat suit for their country their family, their freedom. But no MF can never have your soul. It's interesting how in some countries you have to ask the government to even post a flag outside of your house. In the States, I can go to a store, buy a flag and pole, put it up in my front yard, and no one will say a word. I drive past multiple flying on my way to work everyday. Work within a 15 minute drive of one of the largest army training bases in the US, 45 minute drive of an air force base, home to a Marine training base, and formerly an hour and half drive from a naval shipyard. The military is ingrained in our city and community. I still wonder what Washington would say if he could come back and see what the military became. Probably say we've gone too far, but would be interesting. I'm proud to be where I am from which is funny considering I have a direct Confederate ancestor. Southerners are the most patriotic people in the nation which is ironic considering we once attempted to split from it. There are two things you don't do in the south. Insult America and have a wedding on a Saturday between August and January. I have traveled to Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean. As much as I appreciate experiencing other cultures I would never trade mine for theirs and seeing the current hatred of the country by many of its own citizens is depressing. Songs like this help remind of what is important.

I came across this comment as he said it in the song
My father passed away from Alzheimer's in June of 2016 at the age of 92. He remembered very little of anything recent, but he sure remembered the old times of when he had served this country. He would tell us these stories over and over again, mostly funny stories, but when it came to the bad, he would just bow his head and shake it, and with mourning, disbelief, and tragedy in his face, just say 'the things I had seen'. Nothing more needed saying. Those good memories he would share though, and those are the memories I hold dear. He was a tiny man, and the other soldiers would tease him about that. He would laugh and tell us how once he had to jump from boat to boat as the ships rocked back and forth, crashing against each other, hoping he'd make it to the other side. He didn't have a driver's license, too scared to drive, but he needed one in the Army. So they sent him out on a tanker, the tanker chugging and jolting, forwards and back, as he gave it his best. They gave him his license anyway, and afterwards, the other soldiers joked with him and said that they wanted to ride with Copie, that they'd never get hit. He had some very fond memories of his time serving, memories that the disease allowed him to keep and die with. Also, the bad. But either way, he was proud to have served, and a soldier in his platoon who had outlived him helped lay the flag on his coffin. He took the pride of serving his country with him. RIP, 'Copie', my dad. We miss you dearly, as does the country you served.
