I love how he almost instantly goes from screaming abuse at Jonah's fiance to politely escorting her to her car immediately after she dumps Jonah. He's just that happy about Jonah's misfortune.

Uncle Jeff stole every scene he was in. Watched this dozens of times, howl with laughter every time. His laugh, his facial expressions, everything works so well.

HBO has to get his own show "the uncle Jeff show" that be so wonderful

No one in the whole world can say STFU like Uncle Jeff

Quite possibly the only character in this show with the most vicious form of schadenfreude I have ever seen. He is THE most bold faced misanthrope to ever appear on screen.

Ohh man! So many sharp lines delivered to perfection. This is one of the reasons VEEP is absolutely top shelf television - every character is so well developed.. I have to say though Uncle Jeff and Congressman Furlong are my 2 guilty pleasures amongst what is a stellar cast.

Most of the insults hurled were improvised by the cast. They used to have contests as to who could get the most creative. Then after the take they would bust out laughing.

I think because he is a pretty arrogant imbecile whose only merits in politics were that his family was well connected. Notably, Uncle Jeff provided him with most of his influence. Jonah is the only family member with big political aspirations, so uncle Jeff is completely disgusted.
