From Chanel's beautiful couture wedding (complete with celebrity guests including Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard), to Kim Jones' star-studded debut at Fendi (with everyone from Kate Moss and Demi Moore to Cara Delevingne and Bella Hadid on the catwalk), and Dior's beautiful tribute to tarot cards in the form of an enchanting fashion film, there was a lot to love from the spring/summer 2021 couture shows.
It has been almost a year since the Covid-19 pandemic started to cause disruptions for the entire world - and the virus continues to play havoc with scheduled fashion events, including catwalk shows, which have been pushed back, turned digital and in some instances cancelled altogether over the past 12 months, and this pattern is not dying down just yet.
Couture week took place this week in Paris and, while some physical fashion shows were held, all were done behind closed doors in accordance with the current rules in place in France. Meanwhile, other brands chose to once again present their collections digitally instead, either via fashion films or shoots, or both.

Iris Van Herpen should have been asked to design Katniss Everdeen's Girl on Fire dress. Exactly how I imagined it in the books. Gorgeous. Loved every single piece.

Everything about #IrisVanHerpen 's runway was EPIC. The set, the collection, even the freakin' shoes scream COUTURE like no one's business. 👑

Iris van Herpen is THE couture, reminds me of the 2000's Alexander McQueen
Christian Dior: the rebirth of mythological women. Iris van Herpen: the mythology of the future. We need to dream. They were my favorites.

Dior was very impressive to me I would feel like a goddess if I wore that.

Woah, Cara's back!! It's so good to see her, one of the og models that actually have personality

Viktor&Rolf feels like apocalyptic fashion lol - (Imagine this was in italic font lmao) “amidst the zombie invasion, a designer eager to create something ANYTHING made dresses. Used everything they could find, all the sparkly, dull, eye-catching materials. All for the eye’s pleasure...”

yes, we're forgeting Demi Moore's opening at Fendi not to mention that awful collection. Dior and Iris van Herpen are really the flagship couture of this season, I mean, they always has been two of the best when it comes to couture. Special mentions are Valentino, Schiaparelli, Giambasta Vali and Stephane Rolland
One of the best seasons in a really long time. But Armani Prive and Iris van Herpen were my absolute favorites.

Please hurry, everyone; sans location, photography, and a horse, this collection was as horrid as last season's....
fashion is amazing, you see designers pushing themselves every season trying to explore new material and new style, style is very individual and not all are the designers are successful in doing so but you do salute them for their creativity and hardwork

I love it how over the scenery, the story, the great lightning, superb hair and make up and hair accessories no one notices how Dior dresses are actually beutifully plain and boring. After Iris that no one even comes close my favourites were also Giambattista, Viktor&Rolf and alexis Mabille.

Valentino, Schiaparelli, Armani Privé, the production of Dior was stunning as always. And Naomi Campbell still has the best walk. Really defined the Fendi show. And really incorporating the social distancing into the creative concept of that show, I will say.
Most of these designs are quite stunning and wearable.

If I were a model and someone made me wear that pink nylon net bath scrubby at 4:40, I'd quit. :-D A lot of the fashion is beautiful and flattering, and I love the tarot collection. I also love the movement in the Iris von Herpen collection.

Beautiful fabrics, colours and the fantasy themes, the bride on horseback- that dress is a dream for the tall and slender, simple and beautiful, the black evening dress, in the Elizabethen style with the gold flowing from the bodice, so simple but effective, some designers got it right others so so, was that the Palace of Versailles, amongst others in there? Gorgeous 👍.

Valentino made me uncomfortably disappointed.
I’ll probably never be able to afford them but who cares I’ll just dream and be amazed by these masterpieces 🥰
