7:42 - Little does Johnny know, the spike glitch present in the Mega Drive version of Sonic the Hedgehog is NOT present in the SMS/GG version of the game. What happened here was Sonic landed on spikes while wearing a shield, and because (for whatever reason) Sonic gets _NO INVINCIBILITY FRAMES_ after taking damage with a shield, Sonic immediately takes damage again after landing on the spikes for a second time, making him lose his rings. (At which point, Sonic _DOES_ get a brief moment of invincibility for that, during which he can't be hurt by the spikes until said moment of invincibility runs out.)

Skeeter Mania They are using similar hardware. Which is why some people call the Game Gear a Portable Master System
