In the San Antonio rear end accident (@2:52), it appears that the vehicle recording the dash cam video made zero effort to stop. I replayed the video a few times and I see no effort at all. I even hear the engine revving up, not the screeching of brakes. So I am not surprised that the car that was rear ended was not found at fault, especially since the car doing the rear ending is usually deemed responsible. The onus would be on the rear ending car to show how the vehicle they hit was responsible. That isn't exactly clear in this case. If a car suddenly braked in front of you and you rear end them it is your fault. I don't see much difference here. Like in all insurance situations, you have to make a conscientious effort to mitigate the damage. You can't just barrel into someone if you think they will be found at fault.

@@ce6rant Might have downshifted, you brake a lot faster, if you use your engine to brake aswell, they were both at fault, mostly the charger, since he had to give way and didn't speed up, but the truck could have easily just switched lanes upon seeing the charger come out. I'd say both parties are to blame, but the charger was definitely the bigger asshole, if you are gonna pull out in front of someone, match the traffic speed.

Depends on situation if your car is so fast, hitting brake might take a while to completety stop. Try a evasive maneuvers

80% of these could have easily been avoided with some halfway decent defensive driving skills. Just saying. FFS.

I agree. Apparently owning a dash cam means you can do stupid shit and get away with it. One guy even sped up and hit that charger that pulled in front of him on purpose, you can hear his engine revving up while conveniently having no current speed displayed, then overdramatically both of them whined about injuries. There was MORE than enough to slow down or stop. I own front and rear dash cams and don't trust anyone on the road and never put myself into a bad situation and back off when I see someone about to pull something stupid. Owning a dash cam does NOT mean you can let an accident happen because technically you had the right of way. That's fraud on an insurance claim. I've watched so many of these compilations and often see the dash cam owner as being in the wrong simply because they know they have a dash cam and can prove something or other. Retards! Everyone should take defensive driving instructions. It could save your life!

The person who got backed into at 11:06 should have known she was going to try and sue or scam them the moment she said , “I’m so sorry I can’t believe I did that oh my goodness” it’s obvious she was acting

@@AK-rx6hv Lane splitting makes a lot of sense. It is legal in Cali to lane split at low speeds in traffic. It reduces traffic and keeps the rider and some motorcycles from overheating on hot days. In a perfect world, lane splitting is safer for motorcyclists if done legally and everyone else drives safely... Unfortunately this world is far from perfect.

You can drive at pretty much any speed on a road, provided the road is wide enough and has steady enough turns, without causing an accident. You just have to pay fucking attention, make sure you stay in your lane and give other drivers distance. Half these accidents are caused by people racing some invisible clock and not paying attention to the road.

I'm a truck driver and sometimes no one will let you in even if you have your turn signal on for miles, so you have to kinda force your way in but the drump driver was in a cat so automatically at fault

Reminds me of the time I got brake checked by a motorcycle. I was on the freeway heading home one night when this motorcycle comes up behind my Ranger, tailgating me with his brights on. He finally passes me, then I flash my brights at him. He gets mad and slammed on his brakes, I slam on the horn, and he whizzes off.

It was before smart phones and I wasn't sure which exit I was supposed to take to get where I was going. I pulled over into the right lane because an exit was coming up. Well apparently this pissed off the guy behind me. I didn't slow him down or almost hit him or anything. He decides to zoom past me and cuss me out then pull in front of me and come to a complete stop suddenly to try to get me to hit him. This was a big highway and we were traveling at high speeds. And I was like, is what I really did on accident worth trying to kill me over and possibly them. I don't get it.

I get that turning on your blinker doesn't give you the right to enter the lane, but this is usually just a fodder argument for people who feel entitled to accelerate 30 MPH at a time, trying to race anyone who tries to enter the lane ahead of them. Sometimes the reason you don't have space is because some asshole would prefer to push it up to 100+ MPH trying to block you out, rather than drive legally and see the occasional set of break lights.

I love how most of those road vigilantes are as much wrong as the guys they are denouncing.

But when the person has plenty of room to just pull in behind you, you are not required to take unusual measures to let them cut you off. If you have never been cut off and then flipped off by a driver too impatient to merge into traffic where they should have, this might be hard to understand?

It really annoys me when I see people flip out and blow their horn when cars are merging in from off a ramp. They’re not trying to get ahead of you, they are moving in because they have to, not because they just want to mess with you. Just let them in and get on with your day. Very few people know how to merge onto the expressway. Traffic doesn't stop or slow down. They have to match speed and find a spot. It's really not as difficult as people make it seem.

@@PlayingWithFireOutdoors the point is that a lot of cammers and other drivers think they need to teach reckless drivers a "lesson" by not letting them merge, left lane camping and such, and contribute to dangerous situations that they could have stopped. Also, swerving to avoid a collision in front of you and by doing so colliding with another car next to you still lays the majority of fault at the person who committed the illegal action forcing you to swerve and avoid, and will likely result in fewer damages overall, meaning less of a rate hike by your insurance, or none if you can successfully avoid. In court a decent lawyer could easily get you off with 0% fault if you had to jump lanes to avoid someone that pulls out in front of you and have a relatively minor collision with a car in the other lane in the process.

The merging driver doesnt have the right of way so the cammer is kinda in the right. Would have been the nice thing to let him in but hes not legally obligated to do so.

agreed, turn signal was put on at 16:01:01, he passed him in the gravel at 16:01:09...so 8 seconds wasnt enough time for you to slow down/brake you had to pass him in teh gravel? nahh thats on you buddy

I only use horns when I also need to use my breaks. Like when someone doesn’t notice me I guess and then tries to go in my lane next to me. Like you can go ahead of me or behind me but like please don’t come at me. I’m not the fastest driver so I leave room for people but they still like to try their best to hit me more

Dash cams are a MUST in today's world. Too many Petty AF drivers looking for CLOUT or a law suit. Two wrongs doesn't make it right. Just because you can get license doesn't mean half of these ppl need them. Stay lock & loaded.

7:15 he’s slowing down, and trying to move to the left lane, you’re speeding up or the very least maintaining the same speed. He’s trying to not run out of room and hit the side, but you just assume that he has to wait. There’s no yielding he has been waiting for a good 3 seconds with his signal on. You’re just too ignorant and in your own head. Of course he’s gonna get you back.

Cammer is just a creep, i just don't get it, personally i would see the guy merging and slow to allow him a space without all the drama, everyone is happy and gets to where they are going, but no, this guy has some huge pent up anger he needs to take out on others ruining their day by being some kind of loser on the road. I see this constantly, half the people out there shouldn't even have licenses, it's some big race and they just have to be in front and first to make it to the next red light.

@@traitoR142 This exactly. In these videos I see a lot of people just not being rational drivers. If you see that someone is going to want to merge you slow down a bit, or speed up a bit to give them space. If, of course, you can do this without danger (which is probably most of the time).

What made me laugh was the fact he said he couldn't stop the first time even though he had plenty of indication as well as stopping time. But came to a dead stop 2 seconds later behind the same truck doing an even quicker brake check. 🤣

Binge watching! What frustrates me is, and I understand that sometimes the videos do not reflect how close people are to you, but damn. A little grace when it's not life or death, which there are plenty of videos showing that it is? Born and raised in FL. Becoming quite more dangerous to drive as we have floods of people moving here from all over. I'll always just leave my turn signal on until someone motions me to move over, and it never takes long. Ever. Lots of hasty tempers out there. Some cammers can be just as guilty, IMO 💞🙏 And, sometimes it's just fun to listen to the music or talk show being played 🤣😂😍

love watching people watch the other drive away and not even attempting to drive after them

The "victims" in this compilation are almost as insufferable and bad at driving as the "aggressors".

A lesson for all bad drivers... If you have time to reach for your horn you have time to reach the brake. Stop being so aggressive on the roads. Sometimes people make mistakes and its your job to factor that in.

No one seems to be driving defensively. If someone is coming into your lane and is gonna hit you AND you can see it happening, then you have every ability to hit the brakes instead of the horn.

The dude at about 2:57 didn't even try to slow down. It actually sounds like he speeds up. Obviously the other car was in the wrong, but sometimes it seems like people just let accidents like that happen to prove a point or something.

I think the engine noise was because he slammed on the clutch and the accelerator at first, then you see the car lurch forward when he finally hits the brake. Car pulling out still at fault imo.

💯 avoidable. I mean, the car that pull out was an idiot and and mostly at fault, but the car with the dash cam ABSOLUTELY could have braked to avoid that. And you are totally right. People get angry and let emotions get the better of them and accelerate or almost even seem to let a preventable accident happen to prove a point. You said it best.

Why are most people that flash their high beams and honk are stupid? Most people’s reaction is going to be to slow down when that suddenly happens. It isn’t always a brake check because they brake a tiny bit. So many of these insane people on these videos

@westbender 820 My driver always gives them space (I am too big to drive these vehicles so I just ride in the back of a van) to minimize risk and to make everyone's lives easier.

Seriously, people... just let them in. What is with this territorial stupidity. If someone's lane is ending, just let them in. If they need to get over, just let them in. What is so difficult about being an accommodating driver?

I agree with you 100%. But I remember one instance on the Interstate where a lane was blocked, however for more than a mile we moved at 2 miles an hour with cars passing us on the "closed" lane. Turns out when the lane was actually shut down these ignorant assholes expected to blend into the open lane without delay. I don't mind being somebody's sucker but was fed up with being everybody's sucker. Courtesy is a two way street.
