I've never really known/don't know much about the culture of drag, but I love the, shall I say, openness. These people (I don't know what gender to use, would rather not offend by misgendering) are so UNBELIEVABLY FREE. This is personal expression. Edit: As I research deeper into the culture of drag...WOW. This is an ART FORM. So creative, bold, loud. It screams "THIS IS ME, AND I AM PROUD. I AM STRONG. I AM FIERCE." It's never really piqued my interest before, but this is a brilliant art form.

This is so sweet! And just for reference, drag queens are referred to with she/her pronouns in drag :) Some queens (like RuPaul) don’t mind he/him out of drag but you’ll find a lot of people still use feminine pronouns simply to be cautious or polite

The best part of this episode is the introduction… you truly see Steve doing what so many people can’t do, he is facing his bias even though he’s not 💯 comfortable, he is polite and asks in the beginning, he’s given the okay to be himself and work through it with jokes…and he addresses that he’s grown and is continuing to do so!!

Actually think this is really wholesome and nice to see Steve and Rupaul’s world get along and find commonalities, recognize each other as people, and have fun with the differences. Steve may have struggled with accepting this is in the past, but it seems he’s genuinely making an effort and has grown. He’s meeting them with curiosity rather than dehumanizing them and that’s great, and Rupaul is letting him know it’s okay if he doesn’t get it perfect. Hope we get to see more of this kind of learning and attempts at understanding each other rather than all the polarization that’s so pervasive these days.

I really appreciated that on Raven's behalf, because she wasn't really given a lot of opportunities to demonstrate her personality, but in that moment it was her time to shine courtesy of Carsen.

I see how everyone can see Steve in this and think of it as fragile masculinity or discomfort but as someone whos seen every episode of family fued with their grandmother, I can say with certainty that this is how he acts with EVERYONE! The shocked/blank stare he gives and the uncomfortable banter is just his schtick!

I've watched this show for years as well, and there is a blatant difference between his normal blank stare and awkwardness as opposed to the outright fear and disgust he showed, in instances like Raven baring a leg, he literally panicked and practically ran from him. Honestly, its a pretty amazing thing to see this happen in the world. That he's making the effort to understand a culture that was so foreign to him. There are people who are so full of hate and are so ignorant and then there's this man who is older, grew up in a different time, everyone had a different mindset and you grew up in a culture that rejected people who were living their true lives. But you know what's real growth and how we change that mindset to better our future? Giving people the opportunity to learn and understand a culture they were programmed to think a certain way about and come out the other side seeing how we are all people born in there own way, and that's absolutely fine that! Being understanding goes both ways and if we show that to someone who is ignorant but willing to embrace and learn and change your way of thinking then you won't be labeled as a horrible person. A horrible and ignorant person will refuse to have any sort of compassion, empathy or respect for another persons lifestyle or culture. As long as you are willing to try and also maintain respect, that's most that can be asked of any human being on this earth. You are aloud to be uncomfortable. You are aloud to not be completely on board with someones life style and I think the interactions between everyone on that panel really shows they are trying to send that message, that showing respect and the fact that you are willing to look past your own prejudice and see a person for who they are and not pass judgment, is what they want the world to realize. (Also that they are top bad ass divas 😂 and won't ever be sorry for it!) And it's so cool that we have a way to bridge the generations like that and take a step back and joke about how different we all are and how everyone has there own way of being terrible. It's called being human. But allowing people to feel safe when they are willing and wanting to try to learn and still be who they truly are without having to fear of people immediately shutting them down and destroying their lives for thinking the way you have your entire life. Those are the people we should be embracing and lifting up with us so they see that everyones kindness will always overshadow their life choices and maybe they will learn how amazing the culture they have been so afraid of for so long actually is. Don't kick people down when they are making the effort to better themselves. No one can be one sided. We are all in this together or non of us are.

He’s not changed or in my opinion “learning and accepting people” hes just tired of all the negative PR. In fact if you watch the video he is extremely uncomfortable around the drag racers and belittles or makes fun of them consistently. Late to the game , but literally love ru and how he just laughs everything off. A full on vibe.

Ru is just a wonderful, brilliant personality. He lights up the whole stage with his signature giggle, and I love how he seems to take all the details in on how Steve communicates with his cast and friends. I love him so much.

RP gave him a pass because he at least tried. at one point he even said "I've grown." I'd bet dollars to cents they all went out for drinks afterwards.
