You've got to watch the show. It's absolutely charming.

I'd say Roy is definitely a character who balances out Ted's geberially sunnier character so I def see what you mean about isolating him from that.

Actually, you reacted to Ted Lasso ten days ago...🙄. Roy is one of the best characters (two Emmy so far as supporting character) and, also, one of the writers of the show. Roy is my spirit animal, I love him!!

1st season senior player, retires at end of season, Season 2 becomes tv pundit then coach season 3 better coach and then manager.

humblebrag... actually a brag brag: I'm very similar to Roy, w regards to the 0fucks tude, the cussing, the raging when he has conviction down to grunts and the constant "fuck" vitriol. I'm just not mean (Roy's rude but not mean); and I won't engage unless provoked, never physically. ever. with my 7 yo nephew we have the rule and logic that cussing is an adult activity and it's ok for me to do it because I'm an adult. it doesn't mean he is allowed to repeat it or feel entitled to it. just like there are things I can't do as an adult that a child can do. in the same vain he won't hold things against me. so with me the rule is that i can cuss, and yes cussing is rude and not allowed for children, and yes I get to reprimand him if he cusses (he's good w logic and since we agreed on this he hasn't cussed even out of spite. I also make a game w him when he catches me cuss that he shouldn't tell my sister, but we're too obvious about it n she always knows). I'm his favourite and he calls me "aunt" by combining a syllable of the word"aunt" from Farsi (Persian) and Spanish. im so proud that I wrote this novel right here. at least engagement, right!? ps. Roy's character is very nuanced and is usually part of some of the most touching and poignant scenes. the Jamie hugs in this vid are the resolution to one of the most touching arcs of the show.
