Final silverstone 2018

Rallycross is by far the best thing to happen to racing. Easily the coolest and most exciting racing format around.

That Hockenheim semifinal is propably my favorite race... Whenever someone is interested in rx and I want to show him what it is about i show him that one.

Erikkson always has his car sideways just before entry to the corner in preparation for the exit to the corner -- no one else does that, they do it later than him..........fantastic manoeuvre

these days theyre too afraid to get a scratch on a car, not enough "racing" these days, after holeshot you can usually guess who wins, I love the sport, but its not what it used to be

It’s gotten bigger but the sports gotten itself into trouble. GRC was an absolutely fantastic series (albeit controlled a bit by the Bugs) but was run into the ground by poor leadership. WRX has extremely poor tracks (cause we need F1 destinations rather than tracks that provide good racing), and was turned into VWs personal playground. Course, all the manufactures have pulled support (at least for now) cause they’re going electric, which as well all know is what racing fans want.

take notes fia... this is rallycross. rubbing fenders and getting dirty. as long as your not wreaking guys and your just pushing your way through its fair game. This isn't f1, or supercars. your making an embarrassment of what the sport used to be. you have a 4 lap qualifier, and your going to leave it to what kind of jump off the line you get ?? Leaving historic tracks for new single lane racing, no touching, and boring races. There were some high points last year but the marshals need to stay out of it. Bring it back to how it was 5 years ago. You want to get electric ? Have it as a supporting class like rx2 or s1600 and see how it does. Dont force it and maybe youd still have manufactures, and high quality drivers. Youve forced them out, and your not growing the sport. ARX became because GRC failed to produce and your going down the same lines. unless something spectacular happeneds im going to go ahead and say WRX is dead... Thanks IMG

I'm pretty sure it's Peugeot and Volkswagen that wanted to have electric rallycross cars. IMG is just killing their own series by replacing classic tracks with boring F1 track layouts. But with the manufacturers out I think the shift to electric will never happen.

If you think IMG was bad wait until you see how much the wrc promoter ruins the poor series, you can expect anything from paywalls for watching the races live and further rushing the project E bs. This damn sport can't catch a fucking break and it's also a tragedy that the American Nitro RX series with its ridiculous name and format and tracks made to appease disintetested americans will further alienate the sport from its roots.

Especially for rallying electric motors seem a perfect fit. Full torque from 0 RPM, individually controllable motors for each wheel to bring exactly the right power to each wheel, relatively short stages so relatively small batteries will work and last but not least much fewer parts that can break. What will be missed are the sound and the fire spitting exhausts.
