Even though he's not a Nascar Cup Series Champion. He's still one of the greatest drivers in Nascar History.

Your journey from ASA to the top of the sport was a shared love between a Grandfather, Father and Son. Your sportsmanship and efforts are deserving of the HOF! Thank you for the memories Mark!

he is, he literally has a record where him and jeff gordon are the only ones fighting for the title, literally no driver could catch up to them at that season, he is a legend.
We need more people like Martin in this sport. People who are just humble and respectful of everyone

He doesn't need a championship.....his character and the way he handled victory and defeat is worth more than a chip! This sport is sorely missing guys like this

I wonder how different his career would have been had he taken the offer to drive the 5 for Rick Hendrick in the 90s.
50 years old and having the time of his life, ain't that the American dream? It sure is Darrell it sure is brother!
I still can’t believe he never won a championship and was so close several times. He deserves an honorary championship of anyone does. Love his grit and even temperedness mostly. He was a great driver. One of the best. And clean. A clean driver mostly.

You can thank nascar for that bullshit. He would have won at least 5, but Dale Sr, and Jeff Gordan were the GM pets.

Mark deserved a championship more than any other driver.
I'm surprised no road course victories are in this video. Mark was a good wheelman back in the day (true skill of shifting, braking and of course turning both ways). In fact even when Jeff showed up he was Jeff's top rival at Watkins and Sonoma.

Thank you, I was about to post this, I saw him win his first and only win at Sonoma in 1997 and he totally dominated that day. Mark was an awesome road racer, some of those wins should’ve been included in this clip show.
I always hoped he'd win a championship. Him and Ricky Rudd.

Mark Martin is probably one of the most well spoken drivers in Nascar history. Is loved by everyone and humble beyond belief. NASCAR needs someone like him working in the corporate office.
I stopped watching nascar when mark retired. What a driver
I'm from Arkansas like Mark and my dad went up to buy a truck from his dealership in Batesville. Obviously paperwork takes longer than a Daytona 500 rain delay so me and my mom walked around the INCREDIBLE museum, bought some souvenirs, and eventually got to meet and get a picture with Mark. Bill Elliott was supposed to be there too but got on the wrong flight. Mark is a very cool, humble guy. I'm convinced Johnny Cash and Mark Martin are the two best things so far to comer out of the Natural State.

One of the best HOF speeches ever!
Greatest driver to not win a Cup Championship. Unpopular opinion: He's a perfect driver for the Most Popular Driver. Should have won at least one or two from Dale Jr.

Agreed, I mean is it even possible to hate Martin? Every driver has people that don't like them... except maybe him. Nascar isn't the same since he left, that's for sure!
@jordane4847

I mean, Jeff Gordon also existed; and Dale Sr - Bill Elliott, Rusty Wallace, Jimmie Johnson, the Labontes - I don’t see how it would have ever been possible; Mark was well liked, but never most popular; not compared to others. He was never going to be more popular than Jeff or Dale; that’s just reality.
I'm glad I was around to watch Mark's entire career in NASCAR. I'll never forget, & I know neither will he,the race he lost while leading! I don't know what was going through his mind. He came in thinking the race was over,& he had won! Then he found out there was a lap remaining, & he gave away his win! He never did that again! They won 4 races in a row, had great seasons, but weren't able to win the championship. It's truly a shame for everyone involved in that #6 team,from Jack on down to the last person involved, they deserved it!❤🏁
My favorite NASCAR driver of all time. The guy is amazing.
Favorite Nascar driver of all time!
I've watched it since the 80's and Mark Martin was a force. Class act too
Mark Martin was my favorite Driver . He was a clean driver . Watched his whole career . He would have won a championship , like some other drivers , but that was not Mark .
My all time favorite driver. Class act and always did things the right way

Mark Martin - life champion
My favorite! 🍻🍻🍻
Probably… this probably my new favorite video. Growing up racing, Mark was who I rooted for after Yarborough & till he retired from NASCAR. Just one HELLUVA an athlete, a REAL true sportsmanship winner.
He's a driver you can't hate!
My favorite driver of all time! He would outwork anyone and he always raced with integrity…class act all he way from his dirt track ASA beginnings to his NASCAR days.
I love 2005 NASCAR races in 16:9 HD! Especially this Kansas race that Mark Martin won! 😍
This is the video I've been waiting for
Epic!
Mark Martin has been a favorite of mine for almost 35 years, I really enjoy talking to or hearing about his early days racing against Larry Phillips and Rusty Wallace in Springfield Missouri.
Rememebr when NASCAR screwed him out of a Championship by penalizing the team just enough points to give Earnhardt the Championship (because a part was bolted and not welded if I remember correctly). One of the many ways NASCAR owners ensured Dale's success
@OccasionalNASCARRaces
2 жыл бұрын
That happened in February. How did NASCAR know in advance how many points everyone would score lol
@gilliganallmighty3
2 жыл бұрын
The spacer was too thick. It was Richard Childress that called him out on it though. The worst part was the official telling the team "don't lose by less then 45 points".They lost by 27.
@teafresch7837
2 жыл бұрын
Worst part was that is was welded and not bolted. So it provided zero benefit and they had been using that setup since the prior season and never had any complaints if I remember right
@duffman18
3 ай бұрын
Yep it didn't provide any advantage whatsoever, and Nascar was absolutely fine with it and had been for months, until they complained about it and got nascar to dock him points. It was complete BS. At worst what should have happened was that they simply weren't allowed to use the welded one in future races, but that Martin could keep the points he won. Docking him points was a punishment that did not even remotely fit the supposed "crime".
Long live Mark Martin!
I miss watching nascar like it use to be. Mark was a constant driver. My favorite driver.
A racer’s racer.
Number one class act ever in NASCAR is Mark Martin! Dude is just an awesome guy and one helluva racer!
Mark Martin defiently a man on a Mission. Proven driver in any Series he raved in.
Still my favorite driver… nobody holds a candle to this man!!!
My favorite driver of all time. Great man and great racer!
Dang had me near tears at the end. Glad I was able to watch him race and super happy KZread and nascar and anyone that post nascar races and history let this footage live forever!
NASCAR has basically been a shell of its old self since 2010.. really miss the 90s of nascar
Mark was better than a championship or any trophy
Love this man
Mark Martin = BEST EVER!! Period.
my best driver
Hands down in my opinion there has never been a driver better than mark Martin. I know there's a lot of places he didn't win at and I know is there for better than 2 decades he never won a championship, but there's Nobody more humble on and off the track in the past And present. Mark didn't drive like a lot of people do today where they'll put you in the wall for a win, mark had much more respect than that. If you had the faster car, you had the faster car and he would just try to find a way to beat you with what he had next week .
Been waiting for this forever! My all-time favorite driver!
Really great driver with the Roush boys.
Those old cars look soooooo GOOD!
Mark has to be the most humble guy to ever race for the cup, it's a shame he never won a championship. He was so deserving, and he'll always be a champion in my book. Robbed so many times. What a legend.
I sure do miss the old days of this sport
My favorite driver ever, greatest driver to never win a championship. My favorite moment of Martin is him pitting one lap left, how many drivers you know that would admit to his own mistake and not blame anyone but himself, class act.
I love Chase Elliot, but Mark Martin will always be my favorite driver

I've grew up as Martin fan & now Chase Elliott fan.
When I was six my dad won a contest on the radio to have lunch with Mark. At six I was taller than him. Still, one of the most genuine, down to earth people I’ve had the opportunity of meeting.
The Sterling Moss of NASCAR.
He may have never won the championship,but he sure was some stiff competition.😁
Mark Martin is my favorite since I seen him race way back in the early to mid 90s
Another one of my all time faves!! Gentleman Racer!!
Mark was one of my all time favorites growing up in the 90’s loved that Valvoline paint scheme. If you look up class in the dictionary you ll see a picture of Mark Martin.
He was and always will be my favorite driver forever (other than Carl Edwards n now Kyle Busch). But they don’t get better than ol Mark man. Such a great guy, wonderful human, and one of the best drivers in the entire world.
He's a champion
My favorite driver all time period
He's a Champion, just doesn't have the trophy 🏆
My all time favorite driver
I was a big time Mark Martin fan during his racing years. He was GREAT! Mark was the cleanest and most respectful NASCAR driver ever. He raced anyone hard and CLEAN. He never even had dirty thoughts of purposely bumping/spinning out anyone. Never won a Cup series championship but he's one plenty of other racing championships. He will always be a NASCAR/racing legend and he is in the Hall of Fame. 👍
Mark Martin a true Hall of Famer.
GOAT 🐐 I remember when racing was worth watching
When I hear the name Mark Martin I just think of a racing gladiator. He got better with time but he had some tough luck at the crappiest of times. I appreciated Marks ability to get around a road coarse
Pure class. Pure Grit.

Mark Martin is the best
Through and through a CLASS ACT .. Mr Mark Martin
Earnhardt once said there were two drivers he would never take out. Mark Martin and Harry Gant. They raced him clean and he did the same. I’m glad I got the chance to meet Mark. I have quite a few of his autographs. Thanks for the memories.
Crazy speed
Straight up great guy. He was my favorite driver
The best of the best
Still the best driver never to win a championship! My first race was, I think 1993 New Hampshire he finished second to rusty wallace. Loved this guy, named my cat after him when I was a kid. Had pictures of his arca cars, Winn-Dixie, Folgers, Valvoline, Strohs Light, and army cars on my wall and filled a home made shelf with his die cast cars… great driver who would go head to head with the best, often beating them and always no matter what win or lose, would respect the game. The best drivers always respected him and usually he did the same great career and thank you because I got to watch you race 2 sundays a year for 17 years and the year I missed you won, I was watching 😂

My Dad was a Mark Martin fan for years, and the year he retired, my Dad became a Kyle Busch fan. I always found that funny, he literally went from rooting for the cleanest driver in NASCAR history to rooting for the second biggest villain in NASCAR (second to Dale Sr.)
If you haven't read his book please do. It's an insight into what he overcame and why is one of the strongest people ever
Don’t forget the time he lost that race because he thought it was over a lap early
