Inspired by the Balearic House vibes of Ibiza the passionate German producers Bob Schwarz and Jesse Funk established the musical project SCHWARZ & FUNK in 2001. Since then it has represented Deep Chillout, Sophisticated Lounge Tunes and Soulful House tunes loved by music enthusiasts all over the globe who are bored by tepid jingle-jangle mislabeled as Chillout and House Music.
SCHWARZ & FUNK tracks are released worldwide on very well-known compilations such as the Café del Mar series. In addition the remixes of Bob and Jesse generate great international interest as well. They also compose and produce commercial tracks for many major international companies including Volkswagen, Alfa Romeo, Lufthansa, Tui, Orange, Pilates, Brita and more.
As professional and passionate musicians, Bob and Jesse frequently work together with outstanding musicians and singers. Their good friend and exceptional guitarist Joe T. Aykut for instance, can be regarded as their biggest asset. His spectacular solo performances are one key component of SCHWARZ & FUNK. Big stars like J.C.A., Barbara Tucker, The Gipsy Kings and even the Bee Gees have worked with him as well.

Lounge music is a type of easy listening music popular in the 1950s and 1960s. It may be meant to evoke in the listeners the feeling of being in a place, usually with a tranquil theme, such as a jungle, an island paradise or outer space. The range of lounge music encompasses beautiful music-influenced instrumentals, modern electronica (with chillout, and downtempo influences), while remaining thematically focused on its retro-space-age cultural elements. The earliest type lounge music appeared during the 1920s and 1930s, and was known as light music. Contemporaneously, the term lounge music may also be used to describe the types of music played in hotels (the lounge, the bar), casinos, and piano bars.

Chill-out music (sometimes also chillout, chill out, or simply chill) is an umbrella term for several styles of electronic music characterized by their mellow style and mid-tempo beats-"chill" being derived from a slang injunction to "relax".
Chill-out music emerged in the early and mid-1990s in "chill rooms" at dance clubs, where relaxing music was played to allow dancers a chance to "chill out" from the more emphatic and fast-tempo music played on the main dance floor.
The genres associated with chill-out are mostly ambient, trip hop, nu jazz, ambient house and other subgenres of downtempo. Sometimes the easy listening subgenre lounge is considered to belong to the chill-out collection as well. Chill out as a musical genre or description is synonymous with the more recently popularized terms "smooth electronica" and "soft techno" and is a loose genre of music blurring into several other very distinct styles of electronic and lo-fi music.
"Chill out room" was at the legendary Madchester nightspot, Konspiracy. In these rooms, visitors would find couches, comfortable pillows, psychedelic light shows projecting entrancing images and music that was decidedly downtempo, especially when compared to what was going on a few feet away on the dance floor. Higher Intelligence Agency (the HIA) helped move the chill room concept from sideshow to main event with their Oscillate chill party events in Birmingham and elsewhere in the early to mid nineties. Their first releases came out on the now defunct Beyond record label and soon thereafter in the U.S. on the Waveform label - who describes the music as 'exotic electronica.'
A number of compilations with "Chill Out" in their titles were released in the mid-1990s and beyond, helping to establish the genre as being closely related to downtempo and trip hop but also incorporating, especially in the early 2000s, slower tempo varieties of house music, nu-jazz, psybient, and lounge music of approximately 80 to 110bpm . The genre also includes some forms of trance music, ambient music, and IDM, and it has entirely subsumed the older genre Balearic Beat, although that term is still used interchangeably with chill out. Chill out is generally tonal and relaxing.

1:30 maaaan, this brought me baaaaaack soooo much, to when i was a little kid, my parents used to take me to those high end coffee lounges (1999 -2000 era) where they played this kind of music, brought tears to my eyes as my mother passed away recently 10 yrs after my dad's passing. thank you sir for the memories ♥

This is awesome! "Rainy Ibiza" at 33:58 , and the next song "Dream" at 39:24 really caught my ear and heart: I love it! That guitar! I bought a guitar about 5 years ago, but I have severed tendons on my left hand, so I switched the strings, but without much success. I have a passion for it... and it brings me to tears when I hear guitar played really good. One day I'm going to play a song for my GOD!
