After Marisha took so much crap from the toxic side of the fanbase during Campaign 1, its gratifying not only to see the character of Keyleth get so much kudos in the show, but also that despite being one of the least experienced of the whole ensemble Marisha delivrers probably the best vocal performance of the lot. I honestly can't think of a single line of hers that misses the mark.

I also enjoy the subtle in-jokes at Keyleth-haters' expense in the show. ("Oh yeah, thanks Keyleth" before the ziggurat and "You should really learn your spells, Keyleth", after the Fey split, both by Scanlan IIRC). "Thanks, Keyleth" was a joke on the stream in like 2016, a la Thanks Obama.

Keyleth is one of the most relatable members of Vox Machina.

"I can taste the colors" has got to be one the best lines from the whole show so far!

For the record, it's actually a slightly deeper than is obvious. Only slightly. Sometimes, shows, will use rainbow effects to censor vomiting. Hence the colors.🤣🤣🤣

I can't explain how this fictional character helped me so much with my own insecurities.

It's ironic given that Keyleth is basically the personification of Marisha's anxiety and insecurity when starting the game.

She's a wreck and we love her for it Wish we could get more of her and Percy's dynamic though because it was absolutely hilarious and heartwarming in the original campaign

That was really axed in the series. There even was a cool argument about legacy and community that should have happened in Westrun that was cut. I think both characters could benefit from this in Season 3.

The whole scene of Keyleth mastering fire and closing the tear was straight up epic. Funny how the most powerful member of the group is also the softest and most kind hearted. ^^

Fun fact, according to Critrole stats, Keyleth has the most kills of any Critical Role Player Character The second is Caleb Widogast, another soft hearted mage with a pension for fire. It's always the quiet ones, lol.

Sorry, the story was written several years ago, as Campaign 1 of Critical Role. This show is just an adaptation of that campaign. There have been some minor changes to make it a _good_ adaptation ('cuz different things work in different formats), but generally speaking, it's following that campaign and has a definite end. They say it will be five seasons to finish the story.

@@BLANK-pr5qs Wait, is it official that M9 S1 will air before VM S3? Because the earliest I can see M9 S1 happening is summer 2024, between VM S3 and S4. BUT anyway, CritRole have a multi-year deal with Prime now so there will be more in this vein, just not Vox Machina exclusively.

So good that she is getting the love she deserves. Makes me hopeful for Season 3, especially if and when she decides to fully embrace her feelings for Vax and chooses to no longer be afraid. And then beyond, for her eventual remaining trials... leading up to her eventual coronation as the Voice of the Tempest.

@@deworde I can see that happening at some point in Season 3. For all we know, it might even happen in the first three episodes. That’s what I’m hoping for at the very least. But what I love most about THAT moment is the ambiguity of it. We don’t know what they did once that fade-to-black happened. Whether it was just seeking comfort or… “connection”, the end result is the same: _they spent the night together for the first time._ That’s why I love that moment so much. Because you can interpret it however you want and it’s always valid!

keileth turning into a fire giant was the high point of my year by now

keyleth will always be my fave in vox machina, still hoping we get the soundtrack from this season soon too as the music was amazing

The Disney princess description is too accurate. She's basically that early 20-something who grew up on adorkable Disney princesses like Rapunzel and Anna and based her personality off of that as a coping mechanism for all her insecurities about entering adulthood. That's not a bad thing. It works well because everyone else is more mature than her giving her personality several things to bounce off of.

What makes keyleth my favorite is that her mother's voice actor is the voice actor who voice act korra in The legend of Korra. Technically making keyleth the daughter of an Avatar.

There were several times when Marisha genuinely didn't know how to play her character. Did she deserve the hate? No, of course not, but neither should you excuse her mistakes as ACTING

We ❤Keyleth ! She is cute, brave, funny, powerfull, fears when facing unknown forces ( like any of us would). Very likable and relatable character. She is my wife's fav and posssibly mine too! Can't wait Season 3!

I love how they handled magic cast by different types of spellcasters. The way Keyleth cast Plane Shift was described as her feeling the connection between the planes - instinctual and intuitive, very befitting a druid, and very unlike, say, a wizard.

For my emotional stability I need to see this druid happy together with the raven champion 🐦 And see Vex and Percy with Velora. Being a good sister and brother in law.

Anyone else notice how Keyleth is the only group member Osysa addresses _by name?_ Everyone talks about Scanlan's encounter with Osysa (not without good reason), but no one seems to mention this. I think Osysa is salty at Keyleth for having a _large group of loyal friends_ by her side during her quest which enables her to _explore the world,_ whereas Osysa is _separated from her true love_ and _locked inside_ a dark, cavernous dungeon with _no company_ but the Slayer's Take staff and patrons who are _slim pickings_ in terms of friendship qualities.

I loved the music used when Keyleth turned into that fire giant 😭

Keyleth was always at her best when she was dorky and awkward. So glad the show decided to mostly focus on that aspect of her. (And it is a plus to skip over the earlier arcs where she was more "Holier than thou" and kinda at her worst)

Fitting given Marisha based Keyleth off of Aang when she first played her

I came to Critical Role late, started from Campaign 1 Episode 1 and got all the way through in a year, I had no idea for a long time that a lot of people really didn't like Keyleth when the game was going. She was always one of my top 3 PCs. It's great to see everyone giving her the love she deserves in the show!

Stoner Keyleth is just amazing.

They should do Percy next and all of his scenes!

It feels a little like ‘The Fire Plane’ is a bit of a metaphor for the internet… Lady Arty passed through the worst of people and is stronger for it.

It’s probs cuz it’s shorter form. They had to compress a lot of character arcs and stuff. So it was easier to fast forward her development. We also get to see more reasonings for what she does so that probs helps with understanding her character. And is probs why u feel more sympathetic

@@hhylobates4098 Yes, that'll be interesting, since I didn't like that part of Keyleth either. Her hate was understandable of course, but showing it in those ways was, in my opinion, quite stupid and annoying as well. She also never showed a similar hate towards Thordak, although he was the real killer and raishan wasn't.

The way CR Vax would absolutely have never said Any of that regarding Pryah...it's literally so out of character. There's nothing more out of character than Vax "I jumped into a volcano for Keyleth" il'dan not being the first person to immediately want to help her. Ludicrous.

They go into in the campaign but she’s afraid of loving him only to watch him die, as she doesn’t age the same way and will live thousands of years after Vax is gone. I mean…with that, I get why she’s hesitant. Nothing worse than losing the person you love most.

The editing in this video needs serious work…

Show is decent, I guess same quality as new Casttlevania (much less production value). Still script was written on knee in a bathroom. I like it. It's just really obvious that it wasn't written by professional writers. Keyleth and Vax romance was much better in second season, in first season they just jammed everything into one episode up to him confessing to her. This smooth and slow show of their care for each other is much better. Scanlan's arc is the best. Also, Grog rules. And dragons were badass. A LOT to work on, but good.

Lol i was gonna repeat the same as @JnEricksonx .... Just because it's a fantasy setting doesn't mean the language or script has to be in ye olde English or incredibly refined. It can be as casual as it wants to be... as you learn to roleplay in D&D. 😉

eh, weak character arc & she definitely needs more development.
