    @@2500curbstomper now that I'm older, maybe a little but man that dude is still a king in thrash. You don't really know of any thrash guitarists/bands now that don't love him or the bands he was in. For how old he is his riffs are still INSANE. I don't even listen to much thrash anymore but I've still got a TON of respect for Gary Holt.

    when you watch clips of Gary Holt talking you get the impression he is one really awesome man and a really funny guy as well . I love Jeff Hanneman and his passing was very sad as he was not even 50 years old. But Gary Holt was the perfect for for Slayer .

    Yep its random, it's just about as dumb as it gets in metal soloing. Melodically it sounds like he's got a few some scales and runs, and he's moving up and down the fretboard until it sounds about right, then he's remembering where to start.

  • @m.c.ruckus2032
    @m.c.ruckus20322 ай бұрын

    Gary Holt's solos are just random string noodling. There is no familiar, recognizable lead that was written for any particular song. His leads have no direction, purpose or melody. They never start, fill or end with any particular fit for any song, like I said, just random string noodling. It's just, "aaaaand, GO!", Until he decides," ok, that's enough, that'll do for now" then joins back in with the other guitar to go back to the rhythm guitar parts. It's like, "was that even the right solo that goes in that song?".
