Ces chansons me rappellent de beaucoup de souvenirs à des années 80.

haaaaaa I can see genius faces of great musicians who have gone mmmmmmm singing without computers the great master himself Joe mpoyi, madilu, kyambukuta, simaro, Ndombe,sam mangwana present not dead etc. Zambia is listening Dad used to dance to this music Rip dad.

The Perfectionist at work, these were the early days but the Lyrics were very SOLID.

Wow!!!!! what a rich classic display of music from the guru of rhumba the Great Franco, growing up in Zimbabwe my father (rest in peace dad) used to play rhumba and especially Franco since I was a toddler. I now have my own collection of rhumba and I experience great pleasure, peace and sound therapy when I listen to this rhumba music.

It is very sad that the OLD i e the REAL Rhumba has died a natural death with the departure of both Franco ,Lutumba and the TP O KJAZZ.The Soucous being played for the young ones will never replicate what we the senior citizens enjoyed most then now and forevermore

The outstanding quality of the 'CHANTERS'-JOSKY ,MADILU ,WUTA MAYI ,MPOYI,KIWAKANA,YOULOU to mention but a few merely demonstrates preference by FRANCO I e he recruited the very best then.The main composer of most SONGS sung by the T P. OK ie Lutumba proved to be the main BRAINS of the BAND.

Relax, boss. It was not competition, but a live performance. Tabu Ley does not even end on the instrumentals; Madilu worked with Tabu Ley for years, as a sound technician (Systems) before he joined OK Jazz. Now that you know, just enjoy the smooth rhumba.

@@johntabu: Lol, I am relaxed. I wish you had explained away my wonderment, instead you compounded it. Madilu, I understand, briefly sang backup for Tabu Ley but was unceremoniously dismissed during touring (Tabu abandoned him at the airport).
