Same bruh omg. When I first saw Sayori hanging I had the same reaction as Dan’s. I literally had to get up, go outside and walk around for a bit cuz it fucked me up so bad. And it’s still crazy how there’s so much foreshadowing from those two. Yea, Arin already knew most of the game, but Dan’s foreshadowing dude..it’s scary accurate lol.

Its heavily implied (or maybe even said?? don’t remember) that Natsuki’s dad doesn’t feed her, and that she’s malnourished. So that scene with Natsuki giving Sayori her cookie is actually really really important, not just dumb filler. She barely eats, but still gives a cookie to Sayori to make her happy. Edit: I decided to look into it and I found a point in the game where Monika says “Natsuki’s dad doesn’t give her lunch money or leave her any food in the house, so she’s in a fussy mood pretty often... But sometimes she just loses all of her strength and shuts down. Like earlier. This is just a guess, but I think she’s so small because her malnutrition is interfering with her adolescent growth...”

Ok look, I’m just gonna say it: I liked Natsuki’s poems more than I liked Yuri’s. Like don’t get me wrong, Yuri’s poems were very eloquent and sophisticated and I’m not gonna pretend like the running gag with “Eagles can Fly” wasn’t hilarious. But while most of Yuri’s poems could’ve just as easily been formatted as short stories and it wouldn’t have made much of a difference, Natsuki’s were very stylistic and really took advantage of the medium. I also really liked Natsuki’s philosophy on how “deep and complex” doesn’t necessarily equate to “good” and how simple stories with simple themes, when executed in a clever and creative way, can hold just as much artistic integrity.

yuri's poems (and just her in general) came across as pretentious and it seems like she spent more time looking in a thesaurus rather than building a story. natsuki's simplistic style conveying the feeling of hopelessness gave her poems more emotion than yuri's. any writer knows that what you don't say matters just as much as what you do.

Imagine if they really did stop playing like they said they almost did at 24:15 Dan would go the rest of his life thinking it was just a charming little dating sim about poetry.

I like how Arin and Dan made this whole story around the actual story and it's the only actually entertaining thing and was the only thing that they laughed at. They didn't laugh at any of the actual dialog, only the parts they added or emphasized in an unintentional way.

CJ Curtis I’ve watched most of wind waker through best of and many episodes, but I can never watch it all the way through without getting pissed at Arin’s incompetency cause wind waker is my favourite game 😂

I miss this goddamn series, however... I don't trust romance story novel games anymore .. I can't wait for Danny and Arin to play the next game Salvato is making for this

I’ve watched the entire thing 3 whole times

When he yelled “get low, get low” in sayoris voice I cried so hard laughing that someone came to my car and asked me if I was alright

So fun fact; this game helped me get over a massive depression phase, you might even go as far as to say it kept me from taking the Sayori way out. I was depressed and decided I'd see what cutsie dating sims I could find, and of course being all messed up in the head I failed to read the tags on the store page and downloaded the game. As soon as things got weird I figured it was my PC, but kept playing up until the Sayori scene and of course noticed the background. Long story short, I got caught up in the meta stuff of the game and the story and just simply forgot about what was bringing me down! I also nearly browned my jorts when I saw all those scares due to me not typically enjoying horror games.

Should’ve called it Foreshadowing: The Movie

I wish I was patient enough for animation. At "Okay everyone, vanish" part (8:46) , I'm imagining Monika dressed as a stage magician. The other girls, dressed in the playboy bunny look, are standing in giant top hats. She waves her wand, they all _schlorp_ into their respective hats, spinning on the way down... Dang.

31:33 is that Ross laughing in the background when Dan reads Sayori's line joking about dying?

Kinda funny how they made Monika a robot when she’s the most human of them all

Love how the most human character in the game was the one they gave the robot voice too. Oh, the irony.

When me and my sibling played this game we realiased how much emotion has to be displayed for monikas poems to be great. So... we gave her the most condescending angsty voice

Really? It was inescapable for awhile, it felt like everyone did an LP of it - both games actually. Even now, there are people who are LPing for the first time getting tens to 100 thousand views.

One of the best playthroughs. Dan and Arin not just working overtime with the humorous additions but also their chill / sensitive dynamic in their reactions to the game.

Only I said in my mind "oh yes" when I saw the video? xD
