Yeah Isy is just a very attractive lady. She's not weird or anything. Those eyes are gorgeous.

I never quite understood why people seem to dislike Dobby so much. The whole running theme of the show is how Mark spectacularly messes up every relationship he's in - he marries Sophie and neglects her because he wants to live in a nice cottage, he lets his dad insult Dobby at Christmas and lets Gerard die because he's jealous, and finally follows April to university and then later helps kidnap her husband, so he can break up their marriage and go on a cruise with her. Why are people treating Mark like a tragic hero, with the women as the villains? It's the other way around - Mark and Jeremy are always the architects of their own downfall.

I loved Dobby until season 8, up until then she was a female version of Mark and was adorable. Unfortunately in season 8 the writers had to switch her personality into a female version of Jez because realistically Jez would NEVER have fancied Dobby if they hadn't and the season 8 story arc couldn't have happened. So she went from being an adorable outcast to a pretentious "hat game" playing wanker with absolutely nothing in common with Mark. Honestly they're like two separate characters. But then again all of the women Jez has been in love with have been awful human beings in one way or another (apart from maybe Big Suze) so that's inevitable I guess 🤣

I've never understood why a substantial minority of PS fans love Dobby. She's good in s5, but awful in the rest. She's the least entertaining of all PS' long-term characters. She has by far the worst dress sense of all PS' characters, along with a bad voice & a personality that worsens & changes bizarrely. She makes Mark even more miserable & worsens his friendship with Jez. She is manipulative, using other men's attraction to her against him, comparing him to them unfavourably, to make him feel inferior. She pressures Mark to do various things she knows he doesn't want to. She repeatedly tells him that she's going to move in with him, but keeps making excuses to delay doing so, then never does. She frequently & severely insults him in front of everyone at Christmas, outing their relationship against his clearly stated wishes. What's good about her?

Late reply but that's a tough one... Big Suze/ Nancy are very nice to look at but, Suze is shallow and Nancy is a fruit loop. Dobby is based ultimately, and I like that.

It's a simple, yet hard to explain, camera trickery, but I'll try: • 5-10° angle from like 8ft is enough to completely disappear from reflection. • The mirror frame is hardly visible, therefore making it look like it has all straight angles, like the straight frontal view on a rectangle. • Both glancing at the camera - as we don't have eyes like spiders, we can't see both things at once - making us look at Dobby assuming the point of view of Mark and vice versa.
