This was a beautiful era, full of love, adorable songs by adorable singers like Rafi Sahab, Kishore Ji, Hemant Da & Mukesh the great which was then decorated by both male & female actors of all shades. I remember risking punishment & wrath at home, school that too often by stealing time & chance so sit in the theatres to watch the splendid movies & then discussing each shot with pals etc. A superb time gone into past.

Watch the song in CID, with Dev Anand teasing Shakila, with the help of a couple of street musicians; Oh leke pehla pehla pyar ... Apparently director Raj Khosla just asked Dev Anand to just walk, the entire length of the song. Was it filmed on Marine Drive? All he does is walk a few steps behind Shakila. BTW, watch Shakila's expression. A beautiful and talented actress, who never got her due from Bollywood.

Evergreen music of my childhood

One of the best collections, well strung, sung and acted upon by Devanand and female artists. Lyrics and the compositions are of high order. This collection carried me back through decades. Note that Rafi always sang from his lips and not from throat for Devanand. Very lightly propagating his mellifluous voice.
