I love that you’ve brought this community together of special forces throughout the world. The camaraderie is real

Both Mitchell (McNab,) & Armstrong (Ryan) both write great fiction. They've both pumped out some amazing plots. I love their style of writing, in fact I reckon both were one of the first of that style/genre. I think some have been turned into screenplays. Incredible story of what happened to B2 zero. Nearly everything that could go wrong appeared to happened. Respect and may the fallen RIP.

Nor me, put me in good stead for the rest of my life, ...sand hill. Heart break hill. 'D' lines,.......in the day when the guards did their training at the guards depot pirbright!

Danger Close is also a name of a real life movie about a Company of Australian Infantry Soldiers in Vietnam at a rubber plantation called Long Tan. 2,500 NVA and Vietcong attacked 108 Australian Soldiers resulting in calling in Artillery to breakup the attack by calling in fire on to there position. They were awarded a Presidential Unit Citation for their action.

Mr. Chris's story is incredible! Hearing how his body was able to metabolize itself and keep him alive definitely makes me question whether or not i want to loose my few extra pounds 😂. I've never been a fitness junky BUT after hearing survival stories like this and Nick Lavery, Jason Redman, Tyler Varges-Andrews i've really come to appreciate physical conditioning. Chris Ryan is full of shit , the solider that lost hes life was the most experienced in the team. Ryan was the least experienced as he had come from the TA regiment of the SAS. Read the true story of bravo 2 zero, more true full then the fairy tales Ryan and Mc nab wrote.

Look up Zero Bravo Six - absolutely insane battle in 2003 between 60 M Squadron SBS guys and find out how many Iraqis plus some elite level piloting from American Air assets, a book has just come out about it, crazy battle!

Read Zero Bravo Six just the other day. Now reading Peter Ratcliffe's 'Eye of the Storm.' Another great read. Read so many of them now, we are literally spoiled for choice. Beats all the crap on the TV guys! ;)

@@Sidney1WG Eye of the storm is a great book and has a fantastic counter to bravo two zero as Ratcliffe was their RSM he mentions that B20 did not help themselves at all by going out without vehicles which they were basically told to go with, I won't spoil anything else as ur about to read it ;)

The SAS and SBS arent "some" of the best special forces. They are THE BEST

If we listen, they are telling us how to get through tough times, "keeping the integrity of the mind". Short-term pain for long term gain; self-distraction. It's all here.

I’ve always felt like I could relate with service members due to my two years as a missionary in the favelas of Brazil. The guys I served with were my blood brothers and we created a bond that has lasted for years. We saw death, assault, had to defend our lives, and had bullets hit our house many nights. I remember wondering if I would make it out alive but stuck to my training. We were armed with the word of God (but I would’ve appreciated a gun as well 😂)

Met Chris Ryan A……e in Stockport book signing years ago. When I ask if his second name was something. His face was a picture. What a great guy he signed it Chris Ryan then PP it with his second name in real life. What a legend. Lost my book absolutely gutted. I think somebody stole it If you ever watch this, please sign the book and send it me top man

SAS are like UK Delta/Cag and SBS are like UK Seals?

SAS & SBS are tier 1 and operate across multiple environments so it’s a bit tricky to directly compare them to U.S forces. SBS are more specialised for water based stuff and the majority come from the Royal Marines.

Lee is right. As a rule of thumb: Delta modelled on the SAS; Navy Seals modelled on the SBS.

@@southerncomfort7490 no, that’s not exactly right. The SEALs already had UDT divers in WW2 that became the foundation for the SEALs nowadays. These divers would conduct beach reconnaissance of Japanese islands before the Marines would attack the islands

@@markrunnalls7215 no it’s not? The SEALs weren’t formed solely on the SBS, they already had a prestigious history along with the SBS. Sure they taught them comms or whatever as you say. But why does that matter? The units have evolved to develop their own individual TTPs and unit tactics. The SEALs also taught the SBS on some of their tactics during exchanges The SAS/ SBS may have laid the foundation but others have developed their own tactics from combat experience. For example: the Australian SAS are arguably the best unit at special reconnaissance in the world due to their experience in Borneo and Vietnam

All the worlds special ops team are outstanding,but if they all copy the SAS does that not tell you something 🤔

No it doesn’t tell me anything. Units have developed their own TTPs and have their own combat experience. The SAS laid the bricks but every SF unit has become one of their own not some “SAS copy”

read the book The Nemesis File about what really makes a highly trained troop,, in wartime on battlefields or death squads ,all the worlds sf need that evil in them,, its not about how highly trained you are

@8.30 when Ryan is talking about killing the goatherder, and the American is grinning, it's worth noting that neither of these guys are demonstrably intelligent outside of the immediate expediencies of warfare. How would either of these guys feel if foreign special forces landed in their countries and casually cut the throats of civilians who their own countrymen? Certainly, don't expect ANY mercy or good treamnet if the enemy knows you have done that. They both demonstrate the arrogance which seems to be the preserve of the miitary from the "1st world" countries.

The SAS and the SBS do not "casually cut the throats of civilians...". Neither Ryan nor his colleague killed the goatherder in the end. They were in a situation which could have resulted in their deaths if the goatherder had alerted the enemy. They had to plan what to do to avoid that situation. I'd like to know what you would have done. Don't insult those brave men who protect your freedom.

Watch the video where they destroyed the sas version of events. B2 ....Zero kills 😂. The Bedouin tribe that they called soldiers were friendly and they didn't find any tracks of the soldiers looking for Vince. Fair enough it was pointless but in touching the void the climber that cut off his mate didn't mince words

The same sas that got captured in Iraq and Libya, American cag / seal team six have never ever been captured.

No SAS were captured in Libya.Some Royal Marines were detained in Libya until the militia realised the marines were on the same side as them!

Different cultures have different non verbal cues. What is wrong with you? I have lived in Canada, the UK and the US and each place has varying non verbal cues. Not sure your patronizing comments are called for.

Can we get some more autistic airsoft/Call of Duty armchair operators into the comment section to give their analysis on the expertise, ranking, and capabilities of Special Operations Forces? I just don't think we have enough of them. Thanks.

this guy is obviously nails, however Vince was 2ic of that patrol so for this guy to claim he was dishing out orders seems a bit crass as vince isn’t around to dispute it. it’s a shame to realise that for a guy like this who passed selection and went on to instruct has to lie about his endeavours. alot of what the authors of this mission claimed isn’t accurate, i mean they’re 22 sas, that in itself is epic, why fabricate things

All this special forces is bollocks ...try being a victim of domestic violence abuse...no training no backup decades of abuse..no ego...have a think...absolutely egotistical nonsense.
