Technical mastery and emotional brilliance. Her face tells as many stories as Greta Garbo. I especially love her tender and delicate characterization in La Sylphide, She brings me to tears every time I watch it.

She is pure elegant. Well, she is director of POB. I think she is very underrated, she deserves more recognition. Especially her soft moves and sharp techniques.

It's funny you should say that. It was something I used to ponder, why was she never celebrated outside of the POB? Her technique is indeed astonishing, but there IS something sorely lacking, which struck me on watching the compilation and which I'd never quite registered before, for some reason. She is incredibly unmusical.

@@oliviakirby1409 I agree. I remember her as an extremely pure technician but without much in the way of style. I think you've hit the nail on the head with musicality because that's what phrasing comes from.

@@minissa2009 She admit herself in some interview that at some point she were completely obsessed by technicality in ballet and forgot the artistic part of it. That she were clearly having some psychological issues at some point but realized it thanks to a choreographer (forget the name).

@@moulyg7968 The significant point in Dupont's career as a dancer was meeting Pina Bausch, who chose Dupont for her, Bausch's, Sacre du Printemps. Dupont says she changed her artistic approach as a result of working with Bausch.

Internet is bad for classical music and ballet because one taste in one comment is not 2000 people in an Audience , the more important is the end of a ballet when the Star is alone on stage in front of her Public -Audience and it's very different with some comments of one video , j think really that comments are false in comparison with a ballet in live .

Many of the moves she did are extremely difficult. However, the skill of a dancer does not rely on how many tricks they do. Keep in mind that she was an etoile! That is the highest rank in the POB. She must be good to get that title.

You know, ballet is an art, not a sports. Ballet is a dance with ballet movement and I think she's pretty musical and artistic and also authentic. It'd better not only judge balletina by difficulty of each movement.

Ballet is not about the “difficulty level” of steps, ballet is an art form not an Olympic sport. If you’re interested in difficulty perhaps rhythmic gymnastics would be something you enjoy more.

I see the beauty in so many professionally trained ballerinas, wherever they are from around the globe. I marvel in the unique perspective and presentation each brings to their beloved art. I’m not sure it’s a good idea to judge them based on the level of difficulty or the athleticism of their performance. You can if you want to, of course. But I love to see the way each artist expresses it in a different way.
