Just out of curiosity, where are these being raced? When my dad used to take me when I was younger we travelled all around the country, even all the way down to Essex. Some of the events were just standard meets but the detail on the cars was phenomenal, I can't help but notice a lot of the cars here are bare or only have numbers on them. Why's that?

Jim Beanbragger the drivers area is protected so basically the whole car bends and takes the impact but the drivers area stays strong. There are other safety features put in place to minimise injury such as a H frame, door plates, foot plates and foam padding around the steering column, head rest and b pillar

You can go to belgium, to the "Warneton" track, i think its the least travel for you. Look it up on internet

I would use the same excuse aswell. I have seen many of these classic bangers from very close. And a lot of of them were in pretty good shape. good enough to be restored. But what the hell, if you did this with newer cars, they wouldn't last 2 minutes.

At one point you will notice, that there are none of these oldtimers left, because all of them got destroyed.

Detueftler i rather have them go out with a bang, than slowly rotting away at the junkyard. A lot of these cars will never be restored, due the high ammount of money it would take, for a full restore.

DDS029. To honour the Banger Racing legends that have died. Banger Racing meetings happen most weekends all over the UK and The Netherlands so there are a lot of Banger Racing legends out there! Think of the numbers of tracks that hold regular meetings and then think of the numbers of competitors at all of those tracks combined.

I used to know one of the best drivers in the country back in the mid 90's, I was only a kid, it was all the Granada's and old Jags being used back then, one day he was flooring one of his old Granada's across the car park, spun the car around 180, changed into reverse so fast the wheels hadn't stopping spinning and slotted it backwards between 2 parked cars better than your average person carefully parking on a trip to the supermarket, maybe not all of them are good, but your comment is unfair.
