9:52 Challenge accepted xd Once our archduke gained control over Prague, he wanted to do the same what his ancestors did: move his capital into Prague, so he started integrating Prague and its surroundings by adjusting local archives containment system to Austrian one. While everyone from German nobility seemed happy, there were a lot of Czech aristocrats, who worried about their fate as they fought for their former overlord against Archduke. In order to please them and establish positive relationships, archduke declared amnesty to Czech lords. However, he decided to tame them not only with candy, but also with whip. In order to prevent any possible accidents, hunt for disloyal lords started. In eyes of court archduke justified it as cleansing of Hussite heresy, by adding archbishop to his Highest Council. Against all expectations, there were real Hussites, who didn't forget Emperor's broken promise and Yan Hus fate in Konstanz Cathedral, and they were preparing rebelion. Infuriated by these news archduke ordered to pillage mansions of these lords and take everything valuable to Vienn, followed by religious massacre. Soon after everything was finished. Rebel lords were hanged, heretics burnt and archduke changed the anger to mercy and allowed Prague to be equal city among equals, provided it will never betray Catholic faith ever again.

My recommendation for a narrative justification for the conversion of Prague would be simply a convoluted series of steps to collect Permit A38 which allows you to change the name of the religion in the area. Also, great vid!

11:20 : It is a minor error, but if this is the heir named Ladislaus from 1444 start then it is not the son of Friedrich III. Ladislaus was the son of Friedrichs cousin (Albrecht II.) The son and heir of Friedrich is Emperor Maximilian who later married Mary of Burgundy. For Ladislaus short real life the German word "Mündel" was more suiting. I like this style of narrating.

Fantastic narrative style as always. Re your request for input about Bohemia (to explain that complicated series of events) what about this for explaining your sequence yet keeping it historically "accurate": (i) after our war with Bohemia and taking their capital for ourselves, we tried to placate the rebellious nobility by making them a recognised state and as one of the long-time 7 electors we welcomed our Slavic brothers into our cultural fold (ii) this immediately increased stability within the Empire (iii) However, the Hussite Christian sect focused on continuing their Bohemian Reformation were very unhappy. The Taborites, a more radical sect with Czech national ambitions, led an insurrection against our Imperial authority (iv) We revoked Bohemian statehood, violently quelled the Taborite uprising by concentrating development into our capital and even exploiting more taxes from the local nobles (v) this show of force was followed by the Czech Catholics accepting a Compact with us, in which we granted them statehood again - albeit a diminished state - and we enacted a religious edict promoting Catholicism to eradicate the Hussites. (vi) Little did we know this laid the foundation for a great empire-wide religious war to come a century from now.

At 9:10, here's what I think could make sense story-wise: In an effort to increase religious and societal unity within newly acquired territories, the Austrian Archduke enacted a policy regarding Bohemian territory and how it will be handled, and more precisely, what to do with Prag. The intent was to promote unity through accepting their culture and ideals outright, making a comfy spot for them within Austria's borders. Little did the Archduke realize, playing nice would backfire, as he did not foresee the resistance and stubbornness of the local clergy, which had a strong grip on the province. He even attempted to hire religious advisors in an attempt to peacefully quell the disagreements between the newly acquired territory, and restore the clergy's faith in Catholicism. Unfortunately, none were quite capable of doing so, and the stubborn territory continued to force the Archduke's hands. Following advice of his advisors, the Archduke attempted to "wait them out" by forcing the population into a devastating isolation. First, he commanded his government to cut off supply and governmental aid and infrastructural to the province, effectively halting any sense of stability. Then, with a few well-placed food storage fires and trade route blockades, the overall development in the area suffered greatly - and by sowing the seeds of discontent, Austria was able to pin the blame on the local clergy, effectively turning the citizens of Prag against one another, and thus, when the dust settled, Austrian control returned to "offer a helping hand", which the desperate citizens so graciously accepted, even at the price of their own religious beliefs. One recounting of the event, a document written by an Austrian soldier at the time who recorded the events and was later executed for treason and "conspiracy against the Crown of Austria", noted that "In the end, faith can only hold out so long against a city of empty stomachs."

Oh man, I'm playing Austria right now, decentralized, so this is really fun to see. Best part of playing Austria imo is the dynasty map mode as you get to see the von Hapsburg line spread through Europe like a black cancer 😂

If you play your game "right" with austria noone except coalitions can stop you. The only dealbreaker would be a constant Ottoman French Alliance, which can be broken by beating minor allies of one of them and seperate peace deals with cancelling of the alliance. Ottomans almost never attack an emperor if he is strong (human player is 99% stronger than weak AI emperor who can't handle the reformation). Second the Ai Ottomans are now weaker in average than in the last patches as lookasetbella said.
