Best MTB Hardtail
Спорт
What is the best MTB hardtail? I've been riding a Santa Cruz Chameleon the past two years and want to learn about some other hardtail bikes that would be fun to ride. Leave a comment with a suggestion of a bike that I should check out!

Good prices on them right now. I am lucky enough to live close to the showroom. On my next day off I am going to go look at spot, commencal, and yeti all at the factory. Then at a couple bike shops I am going to look at a Santa Cruz and a trek roscoe 9. I want to find a banshee paradox to size up.

Dartmoor hornet is a super strong freeride hardtail. They literally say on their website that you can put a dual crown fork on it if you want and will work no problem. Also visualy the tubes are alot thicker than other aggressive hardtails

I was searching for this , shredding a primal rn
Been rocking my steel jamis dragon for 8 years now
I have been loving my norco torrent. For what I ride it’s light enough, with plenty of space in the frame for me to go packless, the fork isn’t the most refined but turns big hits into butter.
I swear by my yeti arc. Expensive, definitely not for trials, but it is gnarly and pared with my fox 38 it’s what my buddies call the portable sender. It’s an awesome ride
The Norco torrent is incredibly aggressive, I have a friend who shreds bluesteel on one

Ragley blue pig, it’s a really good enduro bike with its steel frame and I have up front a fox 36 float with 160mm of travel. It’s great
I have a santa cruz highball for past 3 years. love it
I’m in love with my Kona Honzo ST
the new trek roscoe is super dope
Riding a custom built Stanton Sherpa Gen 3 (4130 steel) for almost 2 years now. Really cool. Now I'm planning to build a more pushing bike on a Nukeproof Scout 290 frame... to practice all these skills and ride more demanding trails
The Bridgestone MB3 is a classic. Yes it doesn't have modern technology but they're just so nice
I ride a 2021 Ragley Big Al and it is awesome.

Depends if you want a hardtail to focus on trail riding or trials type of riding. For trials, I can't think of anything better than the Chameleon. There is a whole world of bikes out there for trail riding, the new 2022 Chameleon is a great trail bike, but there are so many good bikes out there.
@SuperRiderTV
2 жыл бұрын
Same - it’s been great, no complaints (other than a few issues with the rear dropouts) - but I definitely want to see what other options I have. I guess my specific use-case of trials/trails mix is sort of unique…and maybe I’ll end up coming back to the Chameleon anyway. Will be fun to find out!

I wanted the Roscoe 7 or 9 but they haven't launched those 2 in India. I guess they're only for the US and the European market. Do you think they'll bring the Roscoe 7 and 9 to India ? They sell the entire range of the Marlin series in India though.
@simonsays5979

@@wanderlust...H I don't know if the 9 will make it to India or not. I think it should be available worldwide. Marin makes a good bike too
I ride a Norco Torrent A2 HT. The ONLY needed upgrade was swapping forks for a Marzocchi Z1 air. That's it. It's perfect. Deore drive train is the perfect match for a heavy rider like me. Even the Tektro 4 piston brakes are a surprise. Upgrading anything else is just frivolous and a waste of money.
I've ridden my Rocky Mountain Fusion 40 for about 3 years and love it. I still ride it now and then eventhough I also have a Canyon Spectral 29. Done technical trails with my hard tail and impressed friends on their full sus
I’m currently riding a chromag wide angle and it’s amazing

Canyon stoic and nukeproof scout
Orbea laughfy. I am currently riding it and for a trail hardtail with trials capabilities I think it's amazing. It feels stable on trails and tech with powerful brakes as well as in the air. The tires are great for traction but are fast rolling enough for me to go on long xc days but still on enduro rides in the weekends. I am sure you will enjoy this all around machine that will put a smile on your face 😀 😊 😄

RSD MiddleChild V2
Commencalmetaht and nukeproof scout
Nukeproof Scout is a great choice. Affordable, tons of rear tyre clearance and super strong. 👍👌
Honestly, the best out there has to be the Kona honzo ESD slack, long, stable, good parts, steel frame. And it looks sick haha. It’s basically an enduro hardtail
Canyon Stoic 3 or 4, greate deal for the price

Cube analog 2022🔥
I’m personally a big fan of the canyon stoics 3 and 4 also the commansal meta
The best cross country hard tail is probably the trek pro caliber 9.9 it is fully Carbon and really light easy to jump around on but also really expensive
I have bien shredding a Dartmoor Hornet for the last 2 years and it's the dream. I purchased the frameset back in 2020 and assembled it myself. It was supposed to be a budget build but the 2000€ barrier has been crossed 😂
I just ordered the 2022 SC MX Chameleon lol

It’s a solid bike for sure - you’re going to be stoked!
Still rocking my 2005 Azonic Steelhead. Street bike and was my polo bike until I swapped it back for a backup trail bike.
Canyon stoic is what i ride, absolutely solid bike and completely bomb proof but the thing that took me the longest to get used to is how slack the angle is, its practically an enduro hardtail. But i loved it once i got used to it because it rockets down hills.

Looks like a nice shape, but it's BB92, press fit. I'll never consider another one of those. Why do manufacturers still use PF? They all eventually creak, and unlike the outboard PF where you can glue in a threaded insert, there is no fix for the internal cups.

I bought a kobain but the shifter cable got ripped out 3 minutes into my first ride. I was pissed. It caught on a stump and even bent the hanger on A small steep downie. It needed the cable routed better and I asked for my bars cut down but they didn't do it so I returned it. Has it been good for you? I think I over reacted and shoulda kept it. 20/20 hindsight right?
I have been running a giant talon 2 for a while now and it has done me just fine
