The equation you had balanced was wrong because in the reactant there was 8 number of hydrogen atom and in the product you only put 2 that it's made only 4 number of hydrogen atom the correct answer is 3Fe+4H2O=Fe3O4+4H2

Lemme break it down for you as much i have understood 1) Firstly, let's put a variable in front of every element/compound 2) Now, as per this equation, We have aFe + bH20 -> cFe304 + dH2, so let us take the value as a=3c if we are taking Fe 3) similarly do the same with taking H. 2b=2d (remove the 2 by taking common) b=d 4) now let's take the last kne which is O. b=4c Now taking c=1 we get a=3 b=4 d=4 Ik it's kinda tough

Heyy... I tried balancing your equation through mam's technique and i did it... Imagine coefficient of c2h6 to be a and of O2 to be b and of CO2 to be c and of H2O to be d. Let a=1, then in case of carbon 2a=c so c =2....in case of Hydrogen 6a=2d so, d =3 and for oxygen 2b =2c so, b =2.... Hence the balanced equation becomes C2H6 +2O2------2CO2+3H2O....hope it helps ❤
