If your a senior and you live alone, get a trusted friend and start calling (if you need a doctor or specialist) and ask them about their extra charges. You have to ask, it's the only way they will tell you. Not just their office charge, but the access charge of 15 percent. I did, and found a doctor and specialist who's office did not charge EXTRA!

I have researching a lot and I had a really hard time deciding and yes Plan G makes the most sense but after listening to your video now I’m not sure as I live Florida and I got a quote from a local agent for $211 a month for Plan G but of course I would love a lower premium and i’m in good health and turn 65 this month of May and my other decision that was making it hard because I’m a retired Federal employee and i have FEHB and if I get Plan G i have to cancel my Federal insurance but if Plan G covers better i don’t need the extra expense since I will also be paying Plan B premium as well. Thanks I did fill out the form for a quote.

My understanding was that in california you would likely have to deal with a health questionnaire when switching from GHD to plan G, since it is considered moving to a higher status of coverage. If that's true it might be an issue with being on plan GHD, i.e. it might not be easy to move to plan G if you run into health problems?

Next year I will not have the funds to pay for my Health insurance because inflation is growing faster than my ssa check. I also have a bery low ssa check per month. Way below poverty. You might want to get your money's worth. HDG has high incentive to stay healthy due to a little less than $3,000 medical cost. That is a good reminder for me to not be stupid with my body.

Once you're Medicare eligible (age 65), you will not be allowed to remain on ACA ("Obamacare"). If you absolutely can't afford to stay with Original Medicare and pay for a supplement plan, then you go go to a Medicare Advantage plan. These plans are limited with what doctors are in-network. The are also notorious for refusing to pay for high cost cancer treatments. No one knows their future health problems, but if you can't afford these premiums, then MA plans are for you. And like another person replied - depending on your income, there are programs you can sign up for that help pay for Medicare and drugs. Those are run by your state.

Keith’s videos are generally very helpful, but I need to call out the book “Medicare Made Clear”. I get that it’s a marketing tool, but overall I would advise people NOT to waste their time reading it. First off, the book contains numerous non-factual errors, like omitted words, glitchy writing, excessive repetition, some ambiguous sentences, and generally too wordy - making it a painful read. The cynical side of me says that it is intended to get readers to give up on reading it and call Keith’s company to get a quote started. If the book wasn’t so glitchy I could forgive the marketing aspects of it. Even the table of contents has errors - some section titles there inexplicably don’t match the actual content and/or are grammatically incorrect. I think the whole thing could be condensed to ten pages of clear writing, bullet points and/or flow chart to help people navigate Medicare. Get an intern to clean it up and it could be a very worthwhile reference. In contrast, the CMS book “Medicare & You 2024” is very clean and clear. Again, Keith’s videos are better investment of one’s time and are very much appreciated.

Today 2024. No kudos, didn't watch your video. I have only 1 question I have UHC Plan N in California for both my wife and I for $294 per month. I'm moving to Phoenix AZ within 6 months. Where the same Plan N from UHC costs $226 per month. There are no state restrictions. Why doesn't anybody talk about the gorilla in the room. I can save $720 per year on the same plan, same company. Why and how can I get my cost reduced from the same company, same plan ? Am I just screwed ? Why isn't this topic ever discussed on your channel ?

When people fail to take care of their health, e.g. obesity, it costs us all.
