Mohammed Rafi had the unique talent of molding the very tone and texture of his voice to suit the actor singing on the screen. Many times you could guess correctly the actor just by listening too his song. He died early and as his body was taken tot he graveyard more than 100,000 people joined in in torrential rain!

FYI Kumar Sanu dominated the 90s and he won 5 awards in a row which you ignored. He made a speech on his last award that he wishes someone else can win and the panel decided to listen otherwise he wouldve won all 10 awards for the 90s decade. His voice is very unique and high pitched but it carries so much emotion and once you understand his voice you will understand why all later singers regard him as the best alive. M.Rafi, Mukesh and Kishore Kumar are like Sinatara and Elvis of thier Era and Kumar Sanu is literally the MJ of Bollywood, You have NO IDEA

50s and 60s belong to Mohd. Rafi, 70s and 80s to Kishore kumar, 90s and 2000s to Kumar shanu, Udit narayan and Sonu nigam, later in 2010 to today- Arijit singh. Obviously there were many other great singers in between like Mukesh, Manna dey, B subramanyam, Yesudas, Sukhvinder and more. My personal favourite is Mohd. Rafi.

Absolutely man. But KK, as a singer and as a person, is far beyond these awards. He's had the greatest award of his life, the audience, as he himself told in a show. We all know how good of a singer KK is and that's what matters

Personally my favourite is Rafiji. Very versatile singer. He could sing any genre song fantastically. Being a Muslim, his bhajans are the best. Sonu Nigam is like him - very versatile too. There should be no count or competition as to who won more or less awards I feel. Each is great in their own way. Their contribution is simply amazing!!

Mohd is always a short written form for Mohammad. We always say his name as Mohammad Rafi even if it is written as Mohd.

Shocked to see KK wasn't there .. he may have not won awards but he actually ruled our heart.

*KK has the record of most nominations (6 times) without ever winning.* 😔 Songs like Tu jo mila,Khuda Jane,Tadap Tadap,Alvida,O meri jaan,Tu hi meri shab,Ajab si,Awarapan Banjarapan,Maine Dil se kaha....many more to go....all these masterpieces were just neglected by crap bollywood. We lost a gem.

My favourite is Rafi saheb. In 50s and 60s there were no separate awards for male and female singers. If it were there, Rafi saheb would have definitely won more awards. Having said that the other singers were great too.

@@sankau9212 but before that from 1948 to 1969 rafi was on top and kishore struggled immensely but was no where near rafi. It's all a matter of time. No singer can be on top forever. Nonetheless both rafi and kishore were legends and were pillars to playback signing

My all time favourite singer is Mohd. Rafi.

Kishore Kumar sahab passed away in 1987 due to which Film Fare didn't take place for 2 years.. Arijit won 5 in row and Kumar Sanu too won 5 in a row... All three Bengali Singers...

Strange, conveniently no reaction at all over the fact that Kumar Sanu won 5 times in a row, but instantly perking up to see Udit Narayan's name and saying "we're gonna see a lot more of Udit here"

Mohd. Rafi passed away in 1980 at the age of 56 that's why you don't see him after late 70s

Mukesh died in 1976 and Mohd. Rafi died in 1980 hence Kishore won 4 back-to-back awards coz at that point in time, new good singers had not come to the fore and the legends (apart from Kishore) had been gone already. So Kishore was the only option. Also, Rick failed to notice that Kumar Sanu won the award 5 times on the trot (a record) and separated himself from the contest thereafter to promote and encourage fresher talent, just like Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle had done years ago.

Kishore kumar should have won more awards. Before rafi and mukesh death , there were so many of kishore kumar songs which deserved a filmfare award , but they did not gave any award to kishore da . So you can't say that after their death kishore da got many awards . He never received much appreciation for his singing talent but he was above all 🥰

Kishore Kumar was undisputed. He has sung many songs with other versions being sung by all time legends like Rafi and Mukesh. His version always ends up foreshadowing those of others. He was extremely charismatic and versatile at its best. Offcourse Rafi and Mukesh are number 1 when it comes to their genre. But Kishore is the least monotonous of all. Considering he had to sing in the times of GrandMasters ruling the industry as a not very academically trained singer, he was a miracle. ❤

My favorites are Kishore Kumar, SPB, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, and Abhijeet. I enjoy their songs the most because of their soulful melodies and nostalgia. I also like the deep voice of Adnan Sami.

Arijit sing could get many awards in the future but Kishor Kumar , Rafi , Mukesh are the soul of Indian music. Their songs are immortal. After 100 years also their songs will be heard 😊

He only sings simple flat same type romantic songs hi his forced nasal voice. When Kumar Sanu sings ,it feels like jaise koi naak se been baja raha ho. His monotonous singing style is very boring . I feel sleepy while listening to him. But Arijit is versatile singer who sings all types of songs . He has most unique and most soulful heart touching voice ever. Atleast he is not a Kishore clone like Kumar Sanu. Mere dholna, binte dil, muskurahat, aayat , channa mereya, kalank, phir le aaya dil - monotonous nasal overrated Kumar Sanu will need to take infinite births to sing these songs

Rafi dominated in 50s and 60s, and in the 70s his voice started to deteriorate, before passing away in 1980. From the point of view if melody and range, I think Rafi is the best. Rafi even sang for Kishore Kumar in one of his earlier movies.

@@KrishanKumar-ec1ch there was no variation in his songs or any range, he sang different genres in the same tone despite being a trained singer. Also there were numerous singers before him who revolutionised Film music. Kishore Kumar was not a trained singer, he never learnt music, he was a singing prodigy and his voice modulation, Voice mimicry, range of songs and style were simply no match to anyone even today. Rafi was a good singer with a good voice and knowledge of classical music, nothing special or extraordinary, Great!!!! No way

I don't get their attention spans sometimes. Kumar Sanu shows up 5 times in a row and radio silence. Not a beep. Anyone else shows up even 2 times - 🤯

Well to be honest, no one knows playback singing better than Mohammad Rafi. Expression of words, Changing the voice texture according to actors is introduced and perfected by him.

Kumar Sanu is one of the best singers in Bollywood along Udit and SPB, you guys should more react about his songs. All are awesome 😊

KK, Jagit singh did not get any filmfare awards but they are legend. Kishore kumar was never given national or govt awards surprisingly. He was banned also. Every singer in unique. Awards may not be the only criteria for s singers prowess.

When Ayushman won that award, I lost faith in these singing awards. That song was fine but come on, there were many more deserving songs that year

Wow! I just realised! KK never won a filmfare. Despite having some of the most memorable songs. Filmfare is mostly rigged though so no shock there.

I feel like true competition only existed up to the early 2000s. Especially the 90's to early 2000s had a huge variety of singers from which people were chosen. There used to be several genuinely well-trained and talented individuals with extensive skill and training. Not to take anything away from Arijit and how good he is, but for a lot of those years, there was hardly anyone to beat. Sad reality of this newer time.

1982 song went to Amit Kumar, who is son of Kishore Kumar. So 6 years in a row the award went to Ganguly family.

Hey U guys just didn't absolutely mention Kumar Sanu he got 5 in a row 1991-95......his first Filmfare was for the 1st Aashiqui movie and Arijit's first Filmfare is for the 2nd Aashiqui movie in 2014.

@@gourabmukhopadhyay7211 Monotonous nasal overrated copycat Kumar Sanu didn't had competitors in 90's. All 90's singers are monotonous who can only sing simple flat same type romantic songs. Composers like Nadeem Shravan made those songs which suited very well in his voice. Arijit had lot of competitors but he has surpassed all his competitors . There are lot of great singers nowadays like Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, Armaan Malik, Palak Muchhal, Neeti Mohan, Monali Thakur but Arijit is best out of them that's why he is winning

Mohammed Rafi left music in 1971, then started singing again after 6-7 years and died in 1980, if not at the age of 55, then many more songs will be heard by him.

KISHORE KUMAR GOT IT BECAUSE MOHD RAFI PASSED AWAY IN 1980 AND MUKESH IN 1976.

Kumar sanu won 5 in a row in 90s then you guys got blind. He was also winning 6th one then he said it's getting repetitive give to other singers

Maybe people will win more awards in the future but objectively, the greatest has to be one from the golden era. I'm guessing Rafi Sahab, Kishore da or Mukesh ji. Pick any one and you have a strong case. Although listening to these 3, Manna da and Mahendra Kapoor ji will make you appreciate music better. PS- I grew up in the 2000s, the Sonu-Shaan-KK era. I love these guys too

Arjit singh didn't won 6 in a row, Arjit won 5 in a row, 2014 Arjit won, 2015 it was Ankit tiwari and 2016-2020 it was Arjit Again, don't be angry Korbin but yess you were wrong ❌😂🤣 Just imagine what if Ankit didn't won in 2015 , arjit would have done 7 in a row, But Ankit tiwari's GALIYAN in 2015 was a masterpiece ❤
