Best Long Range FPV Drone? // IFLIGHT CHIMERA 7

Фильм және анимация

In this video I share my feedback about Iflight Chimera 7 long range FPV drone. I have the version with DJI digital fpv system and tbs crossfire with 1300 KV motors. Flying this drone was an absolute joy and it's one of my all-time favourites. In my opinion it's the best ready-to-fly FPV drone for doing long range mountain surfing.

Yes, the Chimera 7 HD is a battleship of a copter. I love the "no props in view" setup (e.g. my Alfa Monster was very good too, but i/you could see the props!) and it's performance. It flies like it's nailed on tracks - I just love it! You described the "specialties" of this bird quite precisely (fast "follow footage", long and fast drops, juicy cruises)... Also stable and solid hoover and long flight times - but like you said, I wouldn't trade my 5 inch away. By the way, i did not build mine with the standard components - FC: Matek F722, Motors: Garilla: G2507/1500kv, 50A 4in1 esc, Dalprop Cyclone T7056C Pro, DJI digital system...

Hi Tom, thanks for the response. Yes I am using 1200mW in the DJI system and have tested with 200mW and it does not make much difference I get the quad copter in the goggles going Red and then dissapearing alltogether but the Bit Rate is still OK so I keep going until I get to around 15mbits then come home. We have a lot of trees where I am flying so perhaps I need to go to an open space to see how far it can go. I am also thinking of going to 900mhz for the control allthough the DJI controller seems to be bullet proof and I probably do not need to do this. It is the video I need to focus on and that was why I asked about your setup. Many thanks for your input.

hey man, love your videos, I just killed one 7 inch and I ordered one RTF chimera 1800kv + chimera frame to put my old F90 2806.5 1500kv there and build a back up drone. what do you think is the flight time gain with 1300kv vs 1800kv? Also you seem to use much higher capacity batteries than others, people seem to be very happy with 3300mah, some use recommended 2200mah and get 6-8min which is not too bad, what's your reasoning there? is it simply that you are willing to trade off handling for few extra minutes with that bigger drone? I'm looking for ultimate setup to film kitesurfers in extremely strong wind, already got some success with my previous build but biggest issue was camera shake and flight time so I want to improve on that

I have a cinematic fpv filmmaking project planned for this summer, where I will have to fly at high altitude for a long time.. so I am testing out which setup gives me max flight times while still retaining agility :) But I am gonna get another one with 1800kv for car chasing.. 1300kv is a bit too slow sometimes :) I think 1300 kv is the way to go for you, becuase you will easily follow kitesurfers while having more than enough juice in your batteries to fight that strong winds

I got the 1300 before finding out about motor scaling, so you can have best of both worlds just by changing settings on 1800 and scale down to 1300 when you want to.
