@Katherine Grace One of the things I love reading Tolkien is imagining him making up the story to The Hobbit to his kids. Or I'm going back through The Iliad atm, and imagining the dozens of generations of the oldest man in the community telling the tales of glory and heroism of people long, long past, to the newest generation (until someone re-invents writing in Homer's time. The Greek Dark Ages were a legit thing, after the Bronze Age Collapse they *literally forgot how to write* and would instead tell stories of the amazing architecture about them, that they must have been built by giant "cyclopes", ie. "cyclopean architecture", using stones so immense they couldn't even conceive how to move them... anymore... because they somehow forgot what they once knew how to do.)

I'm going to be very honest. My eyes tear up when I watch this. It feels as if I have finally broken free from the dysfunctional chains of my childhood. It only took my childhood and entire adolescence, and however much excruciating pain it brings me I wish I could have realised this 10 years ago, and been able to start steering in the right direction back then. I finally can now, and it makes me so happy. I will do whatever it takes to make sure my parents and grandparents dysfunctions never get perpetuated to my future children.

I had what people would call "old school parenting". I ended up spending so much of my life doing things to get back at my parents for my childhood. Now, no matter how mad I get with my son in law, I take a second and choose the path that will get the best results. He is flourishing in an environment that values communication over physical abuse. Can't change the past, but I can change the future. And it's so satisfying. He's a straight A student and it just took parenting I wish I had.

This is absolutely, hands down, one of the best lessons I’ve ever seen in my entire life. This should be shown repeatedly in every school, at every level; elementary, junior high, and high school. In fact, both of my sons aged 25 & 28 will be getting a copy of this, as well as a few older adults I know. If these lessons were ingrained in us early, can you imagine the utopia we would all live within. Magnificent. Absolutely Magnificent! 😊👌🏼💗

I have been watching so many Jordan B. Peterson videos, you have heightened my interest in psychology. No matter how many people tell me not to pursue it, how it is not worthwhile, I always come back to these videos and find complete enjoyment and intrigue. I am 21 with a toddler, I dropped out of college after my father passed away because I felt no motivation to go. I am planning on a career in psychology, and to always continue learning about it no matter how old I get. Not only do I get a rush of serotonin from learning about psychology but also from telling others about what I learned. My dream from a junior in high school, was to teach psychology, and I have finally came to the mindset that I do not care what others may say or think, this is my path, I am not running anymore. Thank you Jordan B. Peterson for the impact you have had on my life, and so many others. Also, thank God he showed me your videos that led me to an adoration of your knowledge and perspectives. I truly believe this is the path He wants me to take. I could go on and on, but for the sake of simplicity I will say good day.
Thank you, Jordan Peterson! You might have saved my life. I lost weight, I am trying to get my house in order, and I am actually starting to put hard work into what I do instead of living the delusion of pretending to do that. It is probably going to be a long, hard way for me to achieve what I am planning to achieve, but the alternative is to just waste my life and live miserably. You are a realist, and I think the entire controversy around you just exists because you show people what they are afraid of most. The reality they live in. It really helped me a lot. There is no shame in admitting you are doing wrong or have been doing wrong for a long time, as long as you are working to improve that. No one is perfect. No one is ever going to be perfect. But I will be damned if we are not allowed to aim for it, not in others but in ourselves.

30 years ago we started to get the Rush Limbaugh generation. Now, we're getting the Jordan Peterson generation. Both are revelatory in the truth they reveal to the world, with both suited to their time in necessity that is lacking in the people they help in their own way.
I wish i had a dad like mr Peterson. Life advice and guidance are so critical when you're young, single mothers do their best but i think it takes both patents to get the best results.
I wish you could know how much these 'lectures' resonate with some, how acutely we listen realizing how much we've needed to hear them. You're a poet of truths, life lessons that inspire monumental changes. You help people grow into the person they were afraid to believe they could be. Thank you, from one of those people.

Yeah.. Here’s a couple quotes from Joseph Campbell I like on the subject: “If you live with the myths in your mind, you will find yourself always in mythological situations. They cover everything that can happen to you. And that enables you to interpret the myth in relation to life, as well as life in relation to myth.” And more importantly, “It has been well said that mythology is the penultimate truth -- penultimate because the ultimate cannot be put into words.” The truth in “myths”, as it were, definitely captures the mind and causes you to orient yourself in a way no amount of reasoning will. Maybe, as JBP has said, truth is that which serves life, after all. Personally, I’m agnostic but getting quite interested in religion.
Dr. Peterson is a living legend and one of the most brilliant minds on the planet. The lives he's changed, the healing he's brought to so many, and his courage to stand up to lies and corruption are truly God's work. I cannot ignore it and while I'm reading it, my brain cannot listen at the same time (it could only do so if the text would be exactly what is being said aloud). I agree that the visuals are really beautiful. The diagrams were the only parts that provided value to me without question. Everything else is more akin to decoration in opposition to direct information.

Dear Dr. Jordan This is an astonishing piece of work. Your usual eloquence and passion would suffice to address such critically relevant subjects, but oh boy, you and your students/team added a whole new artistic layer to this cognitive experience, connecting the content through imagery directly to our subconcient. I can't stop watching and sharing it. Thank you so much!
Feeling sorry for myself, wanting to blame everything and everyone Including myself cost me about 10 years of my life... 12 to be more exact. You gotta stand up. You gotta face life. If you don't, you will never achieve anything and you might just discard your gift of life because you believe that there is nothing to this world that would make sense. Nothing to fight for, work for, achieve. Nihilism is a horrible monster. And the worst thing is that it feels wonderful to sit in the murky waters that kill you. Feeling sad and sorry for myself felt wonderful... But it nearly rot my body. My soul.

This video is really accurate. I chose my " sacrifice" in my early twenties. I worked full time to pay for college and get my degrees. I will retire in a few years with a pension, a property I own and money saved. I was also a very good parent to my child. As I get closer to retirement, I am joining sports teams and social activities in the neighborhood (things I gave up to get my degrees). This video makes me feel good about that. I have no regrets. @Darren some people have a hard time fully accepting God's Word. Jordan Peterson is that type of person, and it's obvious if you watch his videos over time and he is coming more and more to accept God. Also, God knows that there is good that a believer can learn from a gentile. Remember the tale of the Good Samaritan? That was God showing his believers how to behave using the example of a non-believer. You assume that learning a psychological interpretation of God's word will drive people away from god, and in the process attempt to drive people away from someone who can guide believers who lack guidance to a better and more Godly life.
