Sorry Mr Professor ,you slipped up here, eg you say at 2:17 ''By the time you get to one point two'' Hold on.......... the shutter speed shown at that point is NOT 1.2 seconds..... it is HALF a second eg 1/2 !! Tut Tut !!

lovemetu you have to start your common sense running man, when watching any video...

+inkidama tattoo. What are you talking about ? The guy on the video clearly says one point two when he should have said ''By the time you get to half a second ''' when 1/2 is shown as in this running man sequence it means HALF a second NOT 1.2 of a second, vast difference............

What's negative about that? It's great that he shares tools that he finds. I do the same with my students. It's a TOOL, not a replacement for his teaching.
Great video and very clear explanation. Kudos to you for not taking the credit for the diagram, it's nice to see someone being honest on KZread! Thank you :)
That's what I love about the Internet: I can watch a video, from the other side of the globe, to find something really helpful (just half an hour away from me). Love it!
I respect your humility and for seeking the creator of this photo, not pretending it's your own work! Thank you for spreading it and educating us as well! I found this very helpful.
The fact that you endorse support and encourage this is what will help me the most. Credit to you for finding such a great tool for me to advance my comprehension. Thanks SO much!
I have struggled with this subject for some time, I even took a class on the basics of photography, and I was just not getting it. Now after seeing the image that you posted, it all is very clear to me, and my understanding is becoming more clear, thank you very much!!

Same here Rick, I did it in college and couldn't get it, I know a girl who was in the same boat too!
I'm a total beginner who just bought a Nikon D5300. I feel lucky to have a resource like this to practice/learn. Thank you very much and more power to all of you who spread knowledge instead of hate on the internet. God bless.
I'm VERY new to photography and the other day I sat and watched video after video about exposure and the relationship between ISO, aperture and shutter speed and this is the FIRST video I've watched that offers simple and easy to follow directions. So glad I came across this....
that single photo is life changing. just changed the entire game
I have just looked at ur video for 1 minute, well I can guess u are the best teacher / mentor of all on youtube.... and when i looked at comments below.... it says it all.... I subscribed you dear. Vinay
Cudownie! Jak powrót do tego czego uczył mnie tata i wszystko sobie przypomniałam. Bardzo dziękuję! Thank you very much! 😀
This guy is quick and on the point. Unlike some on youtube that talk so much crap.
Now my brain can make simple sense of everything that I've been exhaustively taught. Not so overwhelming any more. Thank you.
Thanks so much. I am an absolute novice and this used to confuse me completely. Not anymore. Thanks to you and the unknown author. Great help.
I've been watching this guy since the beginning of my career. The best!!
Perfect. Straight to the point. Appreciate. Your teaching.
I totally agree with everyone.Christian explains it so well and clear.Keep up the good work Christian 👍👍
Thank you sir. finally someone who cares about helping those who are just getting into photography. I subscribed.
I've been struggling with the exposure triangle and trying to understand it's reciprocity and this is so very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for this tutorial and keeping everything simple. I also really appreciate that there is no irritating music in the background.
Finally someone explained everything with a short video or pic!!! I don't know how to thank you
Thanks a million.... & you must know this - The no. of people that share this kind of info for everyone to use is small indeed! Very grateful......
Simply brilliant. Many years ago I had a book that showed something very similar. I used it to teach myself photography and I got to pro level.
I have spent many hours on KZread learning how ISO, aperture and shutter speed works. This short and simple clip is the best I've seen so far. Thanks for not making a 5 min explanation into a 20 - 30 mins clip. Liked and subscribed.

This was such a great lesson regarding the exposure triangle, and rather than just looking at the picture, I will keep a link to it, so I an view quit often. Something like this you have to view over and again, to really captivate what you are saying. All I can say thank you so much for the lesson, and it was my lucky day when this lesson came up on my TV in KZread in the Auto mode, so I was able to view it.
Thanks for sharing this. It truly the best chart about these settings that I've ever seen.

I am very happy that I came across your videos! In just the past two days, I have learned a lot, or was given a clearer understanding of what I was doing. Thank YOU, for sharing and your time, I am looking forward to viewing more of your videos. I have a wedding coming up in October, so I am trying to brush up on my skills to make sure I give the best work.

Thank you! I really appreciate you sharing this.
Beautiful & Simple summary for first time DSLR users. Thank you.
I am new to photography and I will be laminating this sheet! Thanks so much!!!!
Good description. I would add: Although it is implicit via the numbers, each group of settings is chosen such that neighbors to either side allow double the amount of light in one direction, and half the light in the other direction. That is true regardless of whether f/stop, time, or film speed (ISO or ASA) is selected. This type of sequence has been used forever, because the difference between one set of numbers (such as f/8, 1/125 sec, ISO 100 which may give proper exposure), can be easily manipulated by changing 2 or 3 of those numbers to give an equivalent amount of light, but is used to emphasize something such as reducing the depth of field by using a large aperture (numerically small f/stop). One of the reasons for using double/half is that the eye perceives changes of 2 or 1/2 quite easily. Some systems use other numbers, but the principle is the same - a sequence defines the numbers based on a fixed percentage change. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much. I was looking for this from long time.
Many Thanks for sharing the knowledge. Cheers
Thanks for you effort and the link above, this is probably the best and strongest visualisation of photography I have ever seen!! (I am teaching my wife to take pics with a dslr.. so...) :-)

Thank you so very much for this! I'm having such a tough time trying to figure out the correlation between aperture and the representation of the numbers. Just got a new camera (Sony a6300) and it is my first camera that is not a point and shoot, so I can start playing with it immediately with that picture you posted. Again, thank you from NYC!
