Big Country Nelson is really one of a kind in this sport. Humble, seemingly not perfectly built, no unnecessary punches after opps were out, taking punches and deliviering like the mail man. Just a true warrior spirit from times long gone.

unlike 1:23 _ UFC = Bellator when this crap is encouraged or tolerated. ZERO reason to have put in those extra shots, and might be the largest reason there aren't more fans. Boxing has known this for a long time - you won't see WBA, WBC, IBF or WBO events put up with that kind of cowardly behavior, because whatever the fighter's or organizer's morals might be, the general public despises it.

Yeah I remember watching his season of TUF and Rampage really pissed me off with his constant digs at Nelson; I lost a lot of respect for rampage after that. Everyone knows it ain't what you look like that makes you a good fighter, big muscles and a six pack may look good but doesn't mean shit when Big Country's overhand right comes swinging!

Um, big country is kind of the opposite of humble. Even on that TUF he was arrogant and tough to deal with, but obviously he backed it up. Lot about the guy to respect, but he’ll be the first guy to tell you why you should respect him.

  • @SCTyler.

So sad every time I see Hall vs Cella. Really seems like Hall had every chance to be a UFC champion. His speed, explosiveness, and sheer creativity mid fight put him really up there in my opinion. But after the wheelkick ko I think Hall had a come to Jesus moment where he made up his mind, consciously or not, to never hurt someone like that again and it really showed. All of his fights were really not all that great after... always seemed like he was playing it too safe. Even Silva passed the torch to him and he basically fumbled it all. You could tell even in the Weidman fight after that check he did that broke Weidmans legs Hall just seemed... defeated like he tried to avoid hurting Weidman and failed. Hall is probably one of the best of the best who never was able to step up and become the cold blooded killer needed to thrive in the UFC.

Lol it’s because of his arm length. But ironically because they were so strange and awkward, they were very hard to time or even react to. Unless you are one of the select few that make it to or near the top, and typically have to have some personality and charisma, if you don't have these things you probably aren't making much in the UFC unless you are a champion and maybe top 5 make a decent living off of this. Doesn't seem like a great business model to get A+ athletes involved, but that's what corporate greed looks like.

@@Max_mthat’s not true at all, I’m not gonna get into the specifics since you probably know that wrestling isn’t ‘fake’ per-say, it’s scripted but Matt did incredibly well for himself in the UFC but Dana didn’t like him and when Dana found out Riddle had cannabis, instead of a warning that any other fighter would have got, Dana kicked Matt right out of the UFC and once said that Matt would never make more money than he did in the UFC, he was incredibly wrong as Matt is doing better than he has in his life. You wouldn’t call Brock Lesnar weak because he did wrestling right? No, you wouldn’t because Brock is a UFC heavyweight champion.
