More of this content please. Gripping, foot work and off balancing techniques are almost no existent on KZread. Especially in NoGi.

Judo should has a No Gi competitive category just like BJJ. It would modernize to sport and make it more practical.

I like this a lot. I believe in a street situation if it should come to that at 5:58 grabbing his bicep is more realistic because he’ll naturally grab yours right back thinking he’s evening up the position prior to you taking him down. Not too many people are going to let you grab their wrist and just let you hang on to it. I know I wouldn’t let someone I’m tussling with grab my wrist.

Hey Jeff, Those are all valid point but remember there is a difference between letting someone and not being able to prevent it.

Travis Stevens True. No arguments here. In the end you’re setting this guy up for something he’s not expecting. Like the technique a lot. Really turns the tables on someone who thinks they got you with a powerful underhook and head position.

Uchimata is not the safest technique applicable to street defense. Problem: 1.placement of the outside pulling hand places thrower at risk of impact injury to that extrimity. Solution: Makakomi Uchimata, places focused energy into the trunk of the attacker increasing the probability of trauma and injury to the attacker. This is of course within the realm of Street- self-defense; not sport.

Lonnie, I'm really confused by your comment. Why are you discussing Street Defense in a video going over NOGI get takedowns? Nogi is a sport done on mats with rules.

@lonnie green Grappling spots like BJJ and Judo aren't pruposed only for self defense on the streets. It gives you very good advantage when escaping a situation because you never know what will happen on the streets either where anything randomly can happen.
