Believe it or not I work at target and do multiple jobs at once because we're severely understaffed and I never stop moving. Sometimes target hires dumb people but I can promise you they get fired within the 90 days. Now team leads ( managers) usually stand around and do nothing even though they get paid more. If you don’t get anxiety about possibly getting in trouble if u get caught not being busy then this is a good job for you. I hate when customers say that Walmart employees stand around doing nothing. I work self checkout and we get a lot of call outs from the front so we rarely have a live person register. With that being said. I'm responsible for answering all help alerts, age-check verifications (including 18+ items ie. white out, nail polish remover), clear out potential theft lights, and ring out carts on self checkout for angry and complaining elderly people. So when you see me standing somewhere drinking water or catching my breath from running all around self checkout. I'm not doing nothing. I'm doing three people's jobs in one. And no self checkouts aren't taking away from my job but rude customers overwhelm people to quit and that adds to my work load

So a couple of things you forgot to mention. One is that Walmart is great, if you want to get constant anxiety for little pay yet loads of work. I worked as a cashier, and they had 3 cameras at least watching us. You get in trouble even if you miss one thing, and one time I missed an avocado and got in trouble for that. Also, personally, most of the managers don’t care. You need help and your light is flashing and ask someone at the front doors to contact them? It’ll take them 5 minutes to get to you. And, in Texas at least, HEB is a great place to work. As a cashier, I get paid 16 dollars an hour and get another 50 cents each 6 months. Only crappy part is that you can’t get off at all unless you are in a hospital. Literally. I had COVID, strep throat, and the flu in a month. Yet, they said that I still had to come into work. So, become immune to every illness in existence and you’ll be fine.

I work at Walmart and that is what a lot of people think you do, some particularly bad associates prove it. This has costed me job offers and good will with companies and people. Being associated with my local Walmart has ruined my career for the future. I keep being harassed by people on the streets and being called into job interviews because a lot of people just want to complain to someone who might make a change. And I'm only being paid $15/hour for my troubles. I am being paid minimum wage for being associated with a company that ruined my career and made me fear going anywhere public. I have had to haul ass in my community to make people think of me as separate from Walmart or to make them think even higher of me if they've seen my often praised customer service skills. Do not work at Walmart if you value having a future.

This has made us have the reputation of having the lowest quality employees that are not worth hiring. Even other Walmarts hate us because we keep taking their best managers to fix things and making them quit. Because I am more recognizable than my coworkers: I have to deal with people finding whatever time they find convenient to complain to me about Walmart. Some topics include no one doing carryouts, no one at the fitting rooms, no one to help, associates running away, flat out racism, locked shopping carts, website falsely advertising and so much more. This reputation has interfered with my job search. So I'm trying to distract everyone with community work so I can get a job that no one feels strongly about.

Amazon warehouses have an insanely high turnover rate for a reason. If you dont have 100% productivity (say, 180 items packed an hour in multi pack, like 400 in small item single pack I think?) or if you mess anything up stocking you get written up. And breaks are a joke. 10 minute break to go pee and the walk is usually most of the 10 minutes. The only job that I tried there that didnt suck out of the 6 different departments I trained in was damageland, when you get to walk around getting the damaged items and returns and grading them to be resold as "like new," "very good," etc. Oh and the mandatory overtime during Christmas was killer. I felt like death after a few weeks of it.

You need to be 18 to work at Amazon and have a high school diploma 5. Amazon is apparently hell to work for 6. It is practically impossible to get hired at Costco if you are under 18, though it is possible So overall, the only decent job for teenagers in the video is Walmart. But I believe it’s better for teens to have jobs that get them experience, rather than focus on the money aspect.

Even then Walmart is hell according to all my coworkers I work with at HEB. For those who don’t live in Texas HEB is basically the state knockoff of Walmart except they actually care about their employees and your wallet as a customer. According to all of them Walmart is absolute hell because for one they barely pay you the bare minimum wage, two the people who go there are the most insufferable people you’ll ever meet. And three is because the products suck. Walmart really did go from people to profit. I’d suggest just not worrying about a job as a teenager. Unless your family is financially struggling I’d say just don’t add that stress onto your life. Just finish school and take the summer after senior year off and then you can worry about getting a job and degree.

Y’all crazy if you think working at Walmart is easy. Anyone who’s worked there knows that’s untrue unless you have the chillest boss around. That happens rarely. Most of the time you have an overpaid manager walking around micromanaging and assigning you task that’s not even in your job description. Even better when someone quits and you have to take over their department too. Being a cashier is so mind numbing and standing in one place for hours isn’t enjoyable either. You have next to no value and they won’t bat an eye in firing you or you quitting. Their absence policy can be incredibly unfair and like to only hire part time so they can schedule you randomly. One week 6 hours and the next week 32 😅 have fun with that. Dealing with customers is it’s own nightmare.

Do not work at Target lmfao. I started with $15 an hour and then jumped to $16 an hour ( ive been working for 6 months as a college student ) because I was picking up shifts from others who were no call no shows, or they got termed *because* they didn't show up too many times. The Target I work at is literally a sinking ship and all of the HR, employees, employers, and managers are all gonna go down with it. I work drive up and they give you a *minimum* of three minutes to take out the order. If you go into the red ( go over three minutes ) you will most likely get yelled at or asked why you went over the time. Most of the time it is because the items are misplaced in the store / in the back where you pick up the orders to then cart them out to said person, people don't know that civilians get right of way for some reason, or some other reason. In conclusion lol, dont work at Target; not worth your time.

I feel like it’s the seals of retail. For reference all I did was do produce for the store and it was insanely boring and repetitive I basically lost my mind there to the point I started shop lifting recklessly and got fired after only a month or so. @@francisco_2024 not really, they genuinely don't really care about you, to the point where you'll regret being an Amazon worker if you're in it. Their warehouses are huge to the point in almost takes you 5-7 minutes to get from where you work at, to your break room to go on your break/lunch break. You waste so much time getting to your break room that you won't make it back to your spot and you'll get essentially a yellow ticket like with soccer. No, you can't leave earlier to get to the break room for your break, you'll get written up for that one too. You HAVE to leave for your break at the time your break starts and be back at the spot when it suppose to end. A lot of people there are genuinely mean that it's honestly crazy that they don't get in trouble, even when they are KNOWN by EVERYONE that they abuse their power. You can't really make anymore money unless you get in a higher position and work there for a LONG time. Some people who are suppose to train you suck at training people to the point that they hate you and the others they're training. They essentially have no sense of humanity, LITERALLY just BIG CORPA. Even the people have that BIG CORPA attitude. Look up "classicmanD" on youtube and add Amazon after that so you can get his content whether it's shorts or videos about his experience from Amazon cuz he quit Amazon and ultimately hated it and loves to hate it cuz of how awful the company is in general.

So my relative worked for Amazon delivery, he’s an older adult so his knees with getting in and out of the van were getting worn out. That’s just one of the problems. And they added cameras in the vans and you have to buckle every time you get in and also turn the car when you get out. At first that sound good and safe, but you can get home earlier if you get your deliveries done. So unbuckling and parking and turning your van off every time is very time wasteful

I can understand the seatbelt part with the way I see people drive nowadays but turning the van on and off every 5-10 minutes 37 times a day I’m pretty sure is bad for the engine.
