Hi Harli! I also love to propagate in sphagnum moss n water especially because it's so satisfying to see new roots forming on my plants. My faves to propagate are probably Monstera's, they have these big tubular roots, Syngonium's n Pothos because they prop so easily and I have recently started propagating my Hoya Crimson Princess, which does take longer, but not much longer since I learned the trick of sticking a Pothos cutting in all my water props. For those that don't know, Pothos has something in them that helps other plants to grow roots alot faster. Anywho, lol thanks, Harli for doing this vid on propagating, you look so pretty today n you have that prego glow going on. LoL I love watching your vids n You rock!🎸

As a botanist, i agree with 99% of your methods. We know the science but we do not know each plants wants an needs. You help with that! Thanks Harli! The one thing i do not like to see but is not a big deal is the algae growing on the roots. In your world its almost impossible not to do that but once you get to a point where you KNOW about when the pheno is going to root then stick it in a light free container. I do not see this hurting many species as long as they aint forced to grow in the sunlight for a long period of time. Again thanks for your videos!

I propagate a lot of plants with air layering, especially the new foliage because it’s so easy and I’ve never had a failure with air layering. My favorite to do this with is philodendron Melanochrysum. I find that sometimes taking the “safe” route can actually hurt. I always heard that you should take multi-node cutting to reduce chances of rot. I never understood why i couldn’t propagate micans successfully. Turned out all I had to do was chop the vine into individual nodes. I have almost 100% success when I cut a vine into single leaf nodes, but almost no success when I have a multi-node vine.

Hi Harli from Quebec 🌿 I love LOVE your videos, I've learned a lot. I was wondering if you use any kind of fertiliser in your propagation box ? Foliaire maybe, like Dakine ? Thx 🥰

Hey harlig! Great video (: At time stamp 11:20, you’re talking about how fast hoya fishtails propagate !! Among the hoyas, is this one of the easier to care for varieties? 🐠 I haven’t added any hoyas to my collection yet, but this one is JUST TOO CUTE to pass up haha Thanks harlig !

I've been trying out different propagation mediums, I started with water then tried perlite and then tried moss. So far, I've only had one success with moss when I am propagating nodes. I didn't remove the leaves in mine. They were just leafless nodes so I decided to try out. Is it common for nodes to turn yellow when you are propagating them? Also, could you do a video on how you set up your prop boxes with the plastic cups? I would like to try that method. Your videos are always so informative.

Love your videos and your generosity in sharing your techniques!! Btw have you ever had to monitor the pH of your moss? When I tried moss propagation, my props were doing super well fr the first couple of months and then eventually all rotted in moss, so I wonder if that's something that needs to be watched / neutralized? :-o

I LOVE to prop my plants!!! I use moss as well and have had a lot of luck with it. The only thing I can't seem to get down is to pack the moss tight or loose then how to effectively water so to not drown the roots. help me 😂😆 Also I used your tip to completely chop my calatheas and it worked beautifully for them and some begonias that all kept suffering from spider mites. You're the best. 💕

I struggle with this at times too! I always err on the side of packing it a bit more loose so moisture doesn't hold in too long! I also prefer to use a spray bottle for watering!

Can you do a video on how you keep syngoniums so healthy and keep spider mites off of them? They would legit be my favorite but every single time I look, I have spidey mites.

Hi Harli! Thank you so much for this video. I want to try propping my burtoniae the way you do. I’m pretty new to propagating so sorry if this is a dumb question heh. I was wondering how you re-moisten the sphagnum moss in all those cups? Do you just spray with water? Pour into each cup? Or are there holes at the bottom and you pour water into the bin for them to soak it up?
