Sundarijal is a small village to be one of the gateways to the Shivapuri National Park. It is located on the north-east side of Kathmandu which is about 17 kn away. The maximum elevation is up to 2340 m. This place is also popular for its beautiful water.
Sundarijal is one of the scenic hiking routes in Kathmandu that can be completed in a day. It’s popular among youngsters as a day route for picnic, hiking,swimming and cycling. One can have an eye-catching view of Kathmandu after an uphill hike.Also, we can see a small wonderful tamang village named Mulkharka. Throughout the hike, we will encounter many small waterfalls inside the green hill.
Sundarijal supplies the water for Kathmandu valley. And from this place we can hike to various places like Panauti after crossing Dhulikhel through Nagarkot. People hike to Chispani through this route and it’s the stop for the people coming down from Langtang - Gosaikunda trekking
