You've had a simulator for 4 years and have shown very little improvement.... I think it's time to get some lessons and stop wasting your time hacking away with the same swing expecting different results.... "insanity" p.s. I'm not trying to be mean, just a blunt observation.. sorry if this offends you, that's not my intention

If I actually took my golf game more seriously I guess it would offend me. If I actually had the time to use my sim more it would definitely offend me. Truth is between my 70 hr plus job working as a Realtor full time and the remaining time spent mainly on making these kind of videos for our viewers, there just isnt much time left in the day. The perks sure arent bad though and since I'll never be on the PGA Tour no matter how often I practice or take lessons I can live with it. Thanks for watching!!

While I think that comment was a bit harsh, I would enjoy watching a few videos on you getting lessons to improve your swing. It would give me hope that I can evolve from my trashy swing to something beautiful and effective.

Great video Roland! Very helpful. I’m just setting up my first simulator now and am thinking of putting two of those 5x5 monster mats back to back for my hitting area. One for right handlers and the other for left handlers. I’ll be using these with the uneekor eyexo monitor. I like the fact that I can rotate the mats 1/4 turn as needed. I won’t have many lefty’s playing so that mat shouldn’t need to be rotated nearly as much. Does my set up sound like it will work out ok from your experience? Also, what kind of screen is that? I like how it seems to have minimal bounce back. That’s what I need for mine. Thanks.

Roland, asking the rubes of the internet (including me) for swing advice is dangerous! But here are my 2 cents, coming from a still high handicapper who struggles with consistency, on what I recommend. I suppose I can comment on some of these because I've tried to work them out of my game a little at a time. 1) Your swing is almost all upper body, with almost no weight shift. Thus, you lose a tremendous amount of distance. 2) You tend to come out of your posture (early extension - hips towards ball) 3) Your left wrist is really cupped at top of backswing; which leads to flipping and again, inconsistency and loss of power You have admitted physical issues with back and knees. But I'll bet a weekly or bi-monthly lessons with a pro will help immensely with improving some of those issues because a pro will understand those limitations and work around them. Heck, I'll bet in two lessons a pro could shorten your backswing, work on your shoulder turn and weight shift, your wrist positions and you could add 15-20 yards to that 7-iron. Golf is baby steps for us high-handicappers -- I am living proof. I suck, but the one thing I have done over the last 12 months is get rid of my awful over the top move and awful slice and now I am hitting balls consistently with a right to left shot shape with my horizontal launch angle right of the target. Note I don't say "consistent draw", because trust me, I can still toss out a wicked hook 75 yards off line!

Seems like the tee in this mat would work well if you have a launch monitor that doesn't require the ball to be in the same spot for all clubs, but if you have something like a Skytrak, it wouldn't work so well, especially if the idea is to just leave the tee in. Birtees would probably have to be used instead.

I have a small Country Club Elite mat I use next to my larger mat. Have had it for years and still get green residue on the underside of my clubs. But it comes off easy enough with a regular club cleaning brush. Anyway, good review. I am in the market for a 5 x 10 mat for a simulator room I am building and right now it's between the Monster Mat and True Feel CCE. Wish I could get a small sample of the Monster Mat - hate to buy it sight unseen. This review did help some so thanks for that. I know you have tried both so would you say the MM is a bit more forgiving then the CCE? I would like a little softer feel.

@@GarageGolf Yeah I kind of get where you are coming from. Never had a real bad experience like you did, but I agree the CCE is just a tad too stiff. Thanks for coming back...I was leaning toward the MM anyway. It is a lot less expensive too. One more question. If I get the 5x10 is the mat firm enough to putt on? I will be using a Foresight GC3 so I suspect it just needs to measure the club speed and direction at impact and it should be fine - just thought I would ask to be sure. Keep up the good product reviews. We need people like you to help us spend our money wisely !!

@@GarageGolf Good to hear since I went ahead and ordered a 5x5. I am planing to put some 3/4" or 1" interlocking gym mats under the turf in my new room so I can sink the 5x5 down and make it level. I have seen that done in other builds and it works out pretty good. For now it will work out well in my temporary setup until I build the new addition on my house for the big simulator room. Thanks for all your help man. I'll be looking forward to any new videos. I like your style 😊

My new 5x5 Monster Mat was delivered yesterday. Just hit off it few times but my first impressions are very positive. Definitely a little softer than the CCE mat I have been hitting off of for a few years now and comfortable to stand on as well. So comparing the two I have to say I prefer the MM over the CCE but will need to wait and see on how it stacks up durability wise. Given they are really targeting the ranges for commercial sales, I suspect it will last a good long time. I don't think you could go wrong with either one honestly, so the cost at about 25% less with free shipping was really the deciding factor for me. Thanks for the review brother - very happy with the purchase.

The SIGPRO Golf Mat: The SIGPRO Softy is by far my favorite golf mat/insert option out there out of everything I have ever tested. It is outstanding quality, mimics the feel of real grass more than anything else I have ever tested and will allow you to hit down and through on the golf ball while protecting your joints, ligaments, wrists and shoulders. The SIGPRO Softy also is one of the most durable mats/inserts out there and will withstand the test of time which is huge for me as well. it is forgiving on the joints as discussed but will allow you to still feel when you hit the golf ball fat without the punishment on your body. There is nothing else that beats this mat in my humble opinion and a huge reason why I waited almost a year before doing a full review on the mat on our channel so I could confidently put our name and endorsement behind the product. You have different options depending on which route you would want for your unique setup so I will include links for multiple options below. The cheapest overall route would be to do the insert and drop it into a cheaper golf mat you can use for a stance mat but hit golf balls off the insert portion to help still protect wrists, joints and elbows. If you can afford the upgrade to the full mats though they are fantastic and offer an overall very high quality look and feel! 4x7 SIGPRO Softy Mat: shopindoorgolf.com/products/sigpro-4-x-7-golf-mat?aff=160 4x10 SIGPRO Softy Mat: shopindoorgolf.com/products/sigpro-4x10-golf-mat?aff=160 SIGPRO Softy Hitting Strip: shopindoorgolf.com/products/sigpro-softy-hitting-strip?aff=160 For your reference, here is a link to our full review on the product for you to take a look at anytime: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iJmdqMqRitHQlso.html

Such an over-exaggerator! Lol. It was only 5 minutes in. I start testing the mat at 7 minutes in. Number 1, that is a very nice vacuum! Number 2, if you buy this mat you will need a really good vacuum, just an FYI. If only I had created chapters so that people could skip past the parts they didn't have any interest in....hmmmm🤔

It is certainly not as forgiving as some others for sure. Have you tried the Sig Pro Softy or seen our video review on it?

Definitely. I will try to keep everyone posted. Going to have a new setup quite soon but I'm still working on the mat portion of the setup to be honest.

Welp, gave this one a shot. 1 week after usage, Grade? D- Not a pleasant mat to play. The residue on the bottom of the clubs was horrible (they are fixing that) and the indentions from the divots were very noticeable after the first round of shots. So much where the ball would sink down into the mat. I would not recommend this mat to my friends.

Hi Willie, putting is not an issue off the mat. I would suggest before you purchase that you also consider this recent video I did on the channel as well: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iJmdqMqRitHQlso.html Please let me know if you have any other questions on either mat. Thanks again!

It looks more like 4' X 5'. I ordered one that's due to arrive today. If it's 4' X 5' I'm going to be pissed. But looking at his feet on the mat, if he's about a size twelve, then his foot is about 12 inches long and the mat appears to be five of HIS feet wide. The mat appearing to be 4' X 5' could be an illusion due to the camera lens. Fingers crossed.

@@GRice999 Size 13 foot. Just measured the mat. Actual size is 59 inches x 59 inches so 1 inch short of 5 feet on each side. Not too bad but just short of 5 full feet.

@@GarageGolf Thanks, great news. I want to rotate the mat 90 degrees from time to time to mitigate wear. If it was 4 feet on one dimension it would have me too close to the edge when hitting a driver.

You asked for some help as to why you ball striking is inconsistent. You are rolling your wrists on the takeaway, which KILLS your consistency. There are a lot of KZread videos about this. Here is just one of them that came out today. He is showing 3 swing mistakes. Yours is classic #2 on this video. If you could fix this one thing, I guarantee that your consistency will improve. You can search a bunch more but this video will show you what I am talking about - rewatch your own video after you watch this one and you will see it clearly. Good luck. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eYeT0rFph5eXhNI.html
