I used the watch during a three week long roadtrip in Namibia and it was the most reliable tool watch I ever imagined. It never left my wrist during the whole time. Buried it in sand, dust, mud, took it to swim in salt water and in sandy surf. It took 2,500 miles (4000km) of mostly bumpy gravel roads, lots of vibration, no issues what so ever. The barometer was especially useful because it showed a change of weather very reliably. After coming back to Europe I found out that it had gained just 3 seconds during that time before it synchronised again. I don‘t understand the complaining about the bracelet because I think it‘s pretty comfy. The beeps are loud enough to be heard in the wild without alarming the whole region you slept in. Conclusion: I can only say that it‘s a shtf watch that won‘t let you down and I totally trust it.

2024 and still the best watch all around.

This did indeed become a classic. I sold one about a year ago but just bought another. I can't see the newer one repeating that success and the previous attempt at an upgrade didn't sell well either.

The cat logo on the back plate has a compass on because this triple sensor model gw 9400 has a compass builtin also, which you forgot to mention.

The main atomic clock is in Phoenix , Arizona . Casio G - Shocks are in my humble opinion , the best watches ever built by humans . There's a reason why Nasa send people into space wearing Casios and not Rolexes or Patek Phillipes . The 1000 dollar Casio is the G-Twisted atomic solar . My dad owns one , I bought it for him as a birthday present .

I bought this watch because of your great review.Its a beautiful rugged watch and I love it! But when the watch arrived four days ago (June 8) I noticed the digits 'fading' when viewed directly and in some angles.I have the Riseman and ProTrek PRW3500 thats not doing this,I also watched this video again and the watch you are reviewing seems to be fine.I did charge it to high hoping that will solve the problem but its still the same.Can you please advice me on what to do. Do I bring it to casio service center ? Can they fix this issue? Or just return it???

Good video! I’m looking in to if I should get a rangeman or frogman for myself. Price and the function of a easy accessible stop watch leans to the rangeman but I really love the frogman design. You should have just kept the original clock at 30 dollars expense and saved the unnecessary extra shipping from Singapore in my opinion 😅

The light is not supposed to. It would further drain the battery. Just tilt the watch towards you 45 degrees and the light will turn on.

I have tried tilting the watch @45 degrees but the light will not turn on while the alarm is going off. My other gshock Gd-350 light has no problem turning on while the alarm signals you the time. Strange that the rangeman gw-9400 being solar power and all won't do the same .

The letters C & R...lol. Actually nothing. They are just different model numbers for different countries :)

Jays and Kays make strap adapters that take 24mm NATO straps.

Maverick the beep sucks in it it's not loud you got to hold it up to your ear to hear it why couldn't they just make a vibration when your wrist really sucks it's not loud at all and you spent a bunch of money on that watch

I ordered the madman 9300. The twin sensor. I have an Atomic multi -band G-SHOCK. I got a watch with a compass and thermometer. The mudman combines those features. Rangeman. Just wouldn’t use the Barometer/Altiminator . Atomic I really don’t travel. It’s a whether man watch.

Hey I'm not your usual person who probably needs this watch but I appreciate the craftsmanship. I've been eyeing the frogman but that won't happen for a while, I might become a collector who knows but the rangeman is a definite pick up for and great review man you just solidify my choice.

Glad I could help...and it's a great watch! The Frogman is really cool as well but the new one is CRAAAZY expensive at about a $1000.00(and basically has the same features as the Rangeman). You can but since body temp and ambient temps vary that would be a huge pain in the butt to have to keep doing.

Surprising you say that about the bands. I have a lower end g shock that i bought over 15 years ago and wear in my rotation and the band still looks practically new.

Thanks for your review. Regarding the actual watch case . . . can you comment on whether the actual case is stainless steel or is it resin. I know the case back is stainless, but I have been told by some that the entire case is also stainless (while other say it is resin). Thanks.

I really like this G-Shock. I wear mine as my everyday time piece. It's part of my EDC. I own two of these bad boys. The black one with the positive LCD and the green with the negative LCD. These are well built and it can go through anything you throw at it. Great watch to own. Do you wear yours or just for the review? Please get back to me when you get this. Great video.

The altimeter uses the same barometric pressure sensor - change in altitude is calculated using change in barometric pressure. So 3 sensors giving those 4 special modes.

Depends on if you want an actual Chronograph or not. The Mudmaster is more stylish because of it, but the Rangeman is probably a little more "capable".
