Late to the party but gotta say this is one of the best reactions to LION I’ve watched. Love your interpretations. Absolutely spot on. And Lion, to this day, is still my favourite I-DLE song (with Hwaa closely in second). You’ve got to react to (or watch) their LION performance at Queedom. It’s where the song was created and premiered. Epic, epic hit.

The Queendom performance is definitely worth watching, it’s a full stage production. I think I like it a little better than the MV. I support the Big Yeon Protocol.

A lot of people's opinion and hard to argue with you. IMHO though, Hwaa is THE ()I-Dle song.. both great songs. Most groups would be happy to have either one as their own.

Their "QUEENDOM" Performance was amazing
The way that you describe, interpret and explain things in your reactions is incredible!! This is by far one of my fave reaction vids ever, so glad you enjoyed it, this song will forever be one of my top fave gidle songs, soyeon did an amazing job (although, when does she never 😌👑)

I have a very limited knowledge about G-idle's vast discography (I only have few songs on my playlist, sorry). But this is my favorite track of theirs, the power that it carries - the message, the vocal acrobatics. And Soyeon's Rap, oh my lord. This woman.

LION was my choice for SOTY in 2019. Soyeon's brilliance is on full display with LION. She wrote the lyrics, arranged the music, and developed the stage and choreo for their "original stage" challenge on Queendom -Season One. If you call yourself a true Neverlander you must watch that live performance, it's one of their classics. I did see an interview with Soyeon where she talked about the black and white scenes being shot in full frame, with cast being barefoot, wearing plain simple wardrobe meant to imply freedom. While all the colored scenes with fancy wardrobe were shot in a shorter frame, bordered on each side with gold boundaries representing confinement. Certainly I did not describe it as well as she did in the interview, but you should be able to get the concept. I believe gidle to be the most creative and imaginative group in kpop and always eagerly await their next come back. More gidle please! Any thing will do, it's all great.
Lion and Oh My God are hard to ignore, lol. I miss Soojin.... But the way they use their individually unique vocal tones in different ways...

also, shout out to the (G)I-DLE love - I saw them live in Chicago a couple of years ago. I was a casual fan of theirs at the time. that show changed my mind. I adore these women and their music, so I am here for whatever pause/appreciation you need to do. Props, my man. Fight the good fight!

Thanks for the reactions & insights. All Soyeon raps are amazing! She's created a style unique to her! It helps that she writes the lyrics & produces the music! But my favorite is this Lion rap. The emotions, changes in pace & flow, all while riding the beat like a champ! Also the song I use to introduce anyone to GIDLE! Every part of the song is unmissable, but if I have to choose, then Minnie's high note and Soyeon's epic rap. Also, like all GIDLE title tracks, Soyeon produced and wrote it but especially for the Queendom finale. That performance gives me chills. Lion delivers an empowering feminist message while sounding amazing and catchy! Only Soyeon and I-DLE can do something like this!

Haha my mom is behind on my videos like I'm behind on ... Everything in KPop. I thought maybe it was the hype of the moment but I do feel like this is going to be firmly in my top songs/MVs I've heard, at all!
Lion was the first song I heard from them, love was the first song. And since the first song I've always asked myself, why aren't they still taking over the world? In addition to the songs being majestic, they are made for the show, and on stage as in her songs, G idle is a queen like a lion. Create a combo of reactions seeing them on 'queendon', the performances are capable of making the biggest kpop hater fall in love. And congratulations on your videos, I really feel like I'm back in time remembering why this is my favorite group above anyone else.
I think it’s almost impossible not to run Soyoen’s verses twice.. even three or four times. Her presence is so captivating, her lyrics are filled with so much meaning and she raps crazy fast. She’s one of my top favorite K-pop artists, her work and what she stands for flows through her veins. If anyone just looks at one of G-Idle’s videos and think it’s just a video they are missing out. Everything holds meaning in their work. ..and she does an amazing job making every member shine with their individual strengths. Love this group! ..and your reactions.

Lion is born on QUEENDOM
Pretty sure that what Soyeon is talking about in her rap is thar they had to fight against people that said women shouldn't be producing. She has said that when she asked to learn production they asked why. She wrote this for the Queendom competition - if you watch the show you will see the PowerPoint she put together for the song and how much of it ended up in this MV. She was inspired by the live action Lion King - so if you wondered if anything good could come from a Disney live action remake, you have your answer 😂 Pretty sure that Jean of Arc was an inspiration too, there is a lot in the MV and the Queendom performance that seems to draw from her, though I don't remember if they have explicitly stated it.

Your interpretation, your analysis, your pauses, and obviously repeating soyeon's part; all of that were perfect. The Queendom performance of "Lion" made me Neverland.
Of course I watch for the full length. watch to the end. Articulated reactions like this are the closest thing I can get to an actual discussion about my favorite groups most of the time. I’ve backed off of comments because most of the time it feels they are traveling silently into the void of the internet, but I am watching.

An amazing song, you never get tired of this one even after all this time. I think I've never seen such a deep dive on the imagery and lyrics on this one but I definitely loved it!
Lion gives you courage.... If you does somthing and fail while listening to this, you just feel you have failed bravely.... And I second that Double Soyeon Verse/rap policy....lol BTW, I know some ppl think their back up dancer are not good...for some weird reason. I think Cube's PerformancePD team is very good, AKA Star System.

I-DLEの歴史を知っている場合はすでに理解していると思いますが、この曲のMVは後から出した物で、この曲は当時に出演していた「Queendom」のファイナルのためにソヨンPDが短期間で製作した物で、一番最初のこの曲を披露したのは「Queendom」でその時のステージ＆番組自体を見たら確実に把握できると思います。 イントロで、この曲のストーリーを説明してます。 簡単に説明すると、ソヨンPDが「ライオンキング」にインスピレーションを受けて製作し、「LION」は後の女王となるキャラクターの名前（ニックネーム）で、地球の歴史で例えたら、あくまでもイメージとなりますが、中世時代の戦争が絶えない時代の一つのストーリー的な感じです。

Good afternoon! This made it feel like a Friday! I was the other one watching all the way to the end ;-) First of all, well done. You got smacked in the face and looked like you were having trouble with your words there for a bit, but you pulled it together, got back on your feet and delivered the crushing insight laced with profanity that we have all come to enjoy so much. I am still astounded by this song every time I hear it and am in awe of the video. It’s strange to think that more recent songs (Tomboy, Nxde, Queencard) have performed better but this was the song that seriously cranked the (g)i-dle coaster up the steep slope. It’s the song that made people “tell a friend” (yeah I’m a bit influenced by Babymonster’s It’s Live performance there). We shouldn’t forget how important word of mouth is for these groups and whether it’s playing this music in the house or in the car, or forwarding new videos to friends or even reaction videos from a gentleman in Boston who is very afraid of tiny women, it’s important to support our groups by spreading the word. For those who missed it, btw, (g)i-dle will be performing at Head in the Clouds Saturday May 11 in Forest Hills (& BIBI will be performing Sunday) Ok, i think that’s all the big stuff. A couple of notes: - she also puts the “ah” in Shuhua - and the “awe” - now you will put the “shh” - That Balenciaga throw on Minnie is iconic. If you missed it, go back and look. (That could be a good blueprint for the first Chainreactions merch ;-) - you will definitely see the family tree of this in OMG - there are some iconic stage performances from awards shows that rival this - once you get through the catalogue that might be worth digging into (same for Le Sserafim) - Also potentially interesting is that (g)i-dle competed against Mamamoo in this season of Queendom. There are some amazing stage performances from them for I Miss You and Good Luck. I always want to believe Hip was performed for Queendom but it came out right after. It’s just interesting for me to see what was going on nearby. Thanks for your time, your intellect and your energy. I enjoyed this ride and, not going to lie, I’ll probably enjoy it a few more times in the future. And, since we are allowed to yell now: NICE FRICKIN’ REACTION BUDDY!!!

I dont know if its worth a reaction on its own, but I highly reccomend watching the Lion performance Idle made on Queendom. It's probably one of their best performances to this date!
The video feel so short 😂😂 BTW the intro and outro has slight difference - they are not tamed by PAIN in intro, and shows the attacks towards them. They break through. And in the outro, after the success and applause, they are not tamed even by LOVE. They are themselves. Not confined. ❤❤❤
