Following on that, I imagine that Pierce initially pitched the idea for their own character action game to the boss in 2012, and in the middle of his pitch Shaundi wandered in, stoned out of her mind, and interrupted with an insane rant about a magic cheerleader killing zombies with a chainsaw, which the boss immediately funded instead. That intro reminded me an awful lot to splatterhouse, also I'm liking the fact they got their art right, most developers just mix mexica and mayan art as if it was switchable

Seconded. They kinda do a it little in some of the Yakuzzi games but with _way_ less spinning - it's more of partially animated diorama type deal - but I like it that way too.

No one can convince me that that isn’t Matt and Woolie as Aku Aku and Uka Uka on the thumbnail

This channel is just scraping the bottom of the barrel to find their next LP, but all the good stuff builds up on the bottom.

One thing i do find funny about this is that woolie is linking this to certain african tropes and myths to the spiritual entities when they're very clearly mayan. "Xibalba (Mayan pronunciation: [ʃiɓalˈɓa]), roughly translated as "place of fear", is the name of the underworld in K'iche' Maya mythology, ruled by the Maya death gods and their helpers." If it was trying to pull from more traditional gods more or less linked to a certain skin color he wants it to be linked to then it would be from the Odinani, the Igbo religion and spirituality, the deity for this game that brings him back to life would probably be Ala, mother goddess, ruler of the underworld, goddess of fertility in that case.

It's been 80 years.

The sound recording is exceptional. Reminds me of the early best friend days of camera stand infront of tv.

Marlow looks good because it doesn't have excessive bloom, so all the details are still there and that looks good when things have lots of edges like a factory. Having lots of stuff placed in the environment helps that effect too.

I like how the villain goes "There is no God here." only to have the guy he just killed come back from the dead with magic powers thanks to the magical talking mask, directly contradicting his statement.

I feel like Woolie and Mat are just gonna start the Dante's Inferno LP when DMC 5 comes out.

This game is a lot shorter though, but it makes up for it with 300 times the explosions!

Just a side note, this game is on Steam for 5$. Just letting all know to support this game. ITS AWESOME!

Damn, the hype genuinely didn't stop from the beginning of the video all the way through to the end. It's not often we get a completely original game that's obviously done on a limited budget that turns out looking this fun, being this charming and seemingly so well put together.

That moment at 3:51 where the revolver pops back into existence for half a second... is the moment you know you are in for cutscene shenanigans

"At what point is this venture too expensive for the bad guy" Probably at the very first second of this game. The sheer amount of machinery and factories currently running in the background right now would probably bankrupt the entire world at once. Like, honestly, just the INDEFENESTRABLE III alone would probably use up the entire U.S. military budget for 300 years just to make it run for five minutes, and that's not even counting the costs of building it. And all of that's *before* Marlow blows up a single helicopter.

IT'S TIME! HOW LONG HAVE I WAITED FOR THIS!!!

You could sit Michael Bay down and tell him to play this for 10 minutes and tears of joy would stream down his face from the shear amount of explosions.

FINALLY. The day has come where Marlow Briggs will rise once more!

Rewatching after the Fall of Best Friends. Ever more bittersweet.
