Perfect timing, heading to Phoenix this monday!

I use to eat at Sambos Resturant a lot when I lived there in 1976. I was broke working for AZ Paperbox Company making a whole $2.00 an hour. The Sambos on Central Avenue you could get a bowl of Chilli a hamburger and a Coke for $2.39. Oh the good life.

Try Romanelli's italian deli on 35th Ave and Dunlap (this is ACTUALLY in Phoenix) the sandwiches are sooo delicious and they have Italian desserts too! The canolis are so dang good, I drive 15 miles just for one!🤣

If you have not tried Portillos you are missing out on Chicago’s best. Try the Italian beef, hamburgers or Chicago style hot dog. Cheese fries are a must too! They have a location in Scottsdale and Tempe! Enjoy!

I know this is a year old, but most of these places are pretty far from Phoenix or even the airport lol.

Pho Thanh is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Arizona and it has great tasting Pho and other entrees. It is located in downtown Phoenix and in a congested area, but the food is the best!

I'm from NJ and it's hard to find food from back home Surprise AZ especially. The closest Diner food I found was from Nick's Diner II near Litchfield Rd and Waddell Rd. The guy who owns this place is Greek and Italian I think. They give you large portions and the price is really reasonable. The servers are on top of everything so the place is clean. They changed their hours a little and close early most days now. We are always looking for new places to try. If you find a place that sells decent bread or rolls let me know. I can't find even a decent hard roll anywhere around here.

Try new york bakery in El mirage. I really don't understand how you can eat at Nick's though. Pretty awful food. Glendale downtown has some Italian but Phoenix downtown has better.

True Food Kitchen. They have locations all over the US but it is very good food

Best PHO: PHO Chandler. Best Baja Style Mexican: SOL in Scottsdale Quarter. Best Chicken Wings: Loco Patron in South Scottsdale. Best Coffee Houses: Amped in Anthem and Lola's in Downtown Phoenix. Best Crab: The Angry Crab in Mesa. Best Prime Steak: Eddie V's in Scottsdale Quarter or Ocean Maestro in Kierland Commons. Best BBQ: Bobbt Q in Mesa or Joe's Real BBQ. Been visiting Phoenix Valley for 25 years, JUST TO TRY THE PHOENIX CUISINE.

Hey great video, What’s your favorite place for ice cream or Italian ice . So far mine is The Sugar Bowl in Scottsdale. Being from Long Island I do miss Ralph’s Italian ice. Haven’t found anything like that here.

Tom c I know this is a 9 month old comment but I hope you get this, Walmart and some Italian delis I’ve been to in the valley (romanellis and defalcos definitely) have angelos Italian ice and gelatos. They’re both wonderful! Not as much of a Ralph’s but more like Rita’s if you know what I mean. Still, it’s a killer Italian ice

I pretty much only like sausage and pepperoni on my pizza and nellos in mesa makes easily the best one ive had in AZ its not even close and ive tried ALOT of pizza around the valley its amazing and a must try its better than alot of places in chicago but not all

Chompies is a great restaurant. Just a heads up though, they are not a chain restaurant, it’s family owned with multiple locations throughout the valley.

Thai - Krua Thai (Phoenix) Indian - Al Hamra (Phoenix) and little India (Tempe) Italian - Tomasso’s (Scottsdale) and Olive Garden (I just really love this place and the food) Chinese - Flo’s (Scottsdale) Healthy American food - True food (multiple locations around the valley) Mexican - El Encanto (Cave Creek and maybe other location) Seafood - Pappadeaux (I think that’s how u spell it!) And FYI Pizzeria Bianco is great, U need to try it!!!

Gotta try Dim Sum Cafe in Mesa. It's definitely a top favorite for those who enjoy legit Chinese food.

New Yorkers will get Pizza from a guy who moved from New York yesterday and say it isn’t authentic New York pizza. They are the literally the worst people on earth.

Have you been to Brooklyn V's? They have 4 locations now, but I started going there when they only had 1 location (Lindsay & Warner). Vito, the owner, is from Brooklyn and you can read about him on the website. Best chicken marsala anywhere. Not sure which location he runs now but if you find him, he's a great, friendly, guy. If you go to the 1st location, hopefully you'll get Vinny for your server. Super funny, heavy accent, very NY attitude about life.

I grew up in Bensonhurst in Brooklyn. What streets did you live on in Brooklyn? Also moved out here 8 years ago.There is a Chinese food restaurant in Queen Creek called the Iron Chef...a hole in the wall. Close to NY style Chinese food. Sal's of Gilbert for pizza.

I grew up across the street from Cropsey park. Also lived on 84th for a bit. Sal's burnt my pizza so I'm not a fan.

Best place to eat in Phoenix is LoLos chicken and waffles and The Beach House on camelback. Obviously try the chicken & waffles but with grits and scrambled eggs at LoLos. At the beach house try the fish tacos and the rice bowl with beef. Amazing food. I try to go to each like once a month.

I'm from the east coast, so just to add... the bagel man in awhatukee has the best bagels around. If you're looking for the best pizza in the area, let me recommend Zio's Pizza in Mesa. It's near University and Longmore. That's the closest and best pizza to NY style I've found. The best Chinese food is on the west side, which I dont get to much, but the East Valley has great sushi! Obviously, we have some amazing Mexican food. Rn my favorite tacos are at Ghett'yo Tacos in Chandler. Their cuban crisis taco (carnitas, bacon, cabbage, pickled red onions and mustard crema) is probably the best taco I've ever had living in Chandler, that's saying something!!

Tacos Tijuana in gilbert is the best tacos. They hand make the tortillas

Bobby Q had horrible bbq when I went there. But the restaurant itself is very pretty! They can’t even make good Mac and cheese or mashed potatoes

Chicken Tacos at Rosa's in Mesa. Dont need to even be chicken or taco fan, I am not really one either but they do something to chicken that I am sure they will never disclose in the marination I am guessing.

Los Olivos in Scottsdale has great Mexican food and a cool ambiance. I used to LOVE Cowboy Ciao in Scottsdale, I heard it closed, but the airport location is still open.

Lolo's sucks compared to Roscoe's.

Yesterday I went to Backyard Taco and tried Asada and Pastor, both were very good almost the same as in Mexico, I still cannot find the real pastor from a vertical grill (shawarma), but the marinated pork and pinaple combination in Bacyard's pastor was very good, thanks.

Looking forward to it when I move down there

This is about the best places in Phoenix... most restaurants are outside Phoenix and you complained during most of the video.

Colt Grill. There are only two locations...Cottonwood and Prescott. I absolutely love this restaurant! I've only been to the Cottonwood location. The food and atmosphere is really good and the staff is awesome. My next favorite restaurant is Haunted Burger in Jerome. My hubby and I make it our business to stop by there for burgers whenever we drive up north. Granted these are up north but I think it should be mentioned 😄
