    Dude, I've really come to appreciate your viewpoint on everything film and gear related. It often feels like youtube is awash with trust fund kids shilling the latest gear to envious viewers. On the other hand, I feel like you've dealt with some struggle and will give me a level headed review or assessment -regarding gear, especially. I'm down with your blue collar approach to filmmaking because that's where most of us are at. Keep up the solid work, brother.

    Well now I see this. Seems a lot less fiddly and plasticity. If I could get this on the Komodo but still with both hands on the rig I would be stoked. I shot mostly impromptu shorts where the only marks is a mark on someone's hand at the beach from opening a beer. But if I could pull focus with most stationary people or objects it could add a lot of impromptu creativity. Thanks again if you can help. Mike

    the hard stops on this one are really nice. The only thing with the Komodo is you gotta have the right base plate. The wooden camera looked good, until i saw a lot of guys having the bottom QR plate come loose, so thats no bueno

    Anyone else feel like lenses are backwards? Turing a dial forwards (overhand) should focus on an object far away. It just makes more logical sense to be rotating towards the object you want in focus. I feel like lenses/follow focus were just made backwards, probably by the kind of people who load the toilet paper so it comes out at the bottom.

    VFX Todd The new one? If you’re talking about the old one, yeah that is solid, but way more money and also im not a fan of tilta gear. But i really hope youre not talking about that new little crappy one. You cant even get a full focus throw with that thing. And ive seen two review videos where people had to completely take it apart and take out the hard stops just to make it work. last thing, single rail systems are never efficient. I actually edited out a whole five minutes of this video because i was trash talking that follow focus so bad. But to each their own 👌🏼 But no, after everything i went through with their tilta gravity gimbal, i will never give that store a dime of my money ever again

    @@JustinPhillip I have no issues with the single rod mount of the Tilta FF. Is the FOTGA focus wheel larger? What's the main difference between the two FFs?

  • @JustinPhillip

    @JustinPhillip

    4 жыл бұрын

    VFX Todd The videos that i’ve seen, the hard stops hinder getting a full focus throw with cine lenses, because the wheel is so small and the stops are on the same spinning disc. So people are having to take off the hard stops altogether. But if its not messing with you, youre prolly fine with the lenses ypu have. I just know it wont work with my old lenses cuz they have a huge focus throw. But with the single rod systems, ones ive had in the past, made by Kamerar, they would always fall down or buck away from the lens. 🤷🏻‍♂️
