Best First Worm Feeding Ever (in CO) - Checking ENC's First Feeding Progress

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

These ENCs are off to an amazing start! In about 3 weeks they have absolutely demolished the food I gave them for their first feeding, so much so I could barely even tell where they were fed. We'll see how their next round goes, but I'm optimistic they will be hearty eaters, at least through the summer. We'll check in on them in a few weeks and see how they do for their 2nd feeding.

* The official Earth Box store has a lot of color combinations, so it's worth going direct. I would suggest getting the casters, totally worth it and SO helpful. Also where you can get the automatic watering system made officially for their system.

Yay! I'm glad 99% of your ENC's settled in and got down to work. I wouldn't know if any of my baby ENC's escaped because the bin is an open tote and outside. It's only a few feet from my compost pile, so if they do crawl out, they will have a place to go. I've heard this species can really eat a lot, so both of us should be able to get rid of all our food scraps this summer! ~ Sandra

I sure do hope so! I have such a hard time with our composting tumblers, they dry out even though I am sometimes watering them with the hose daily! At least your ENCs have a nice compost pile to migrate to if they decide to roam :D Have you been finding they eat a ton so far?

They've only had one regular feeding so far, which they demolished. Honestly, I need to get out there more often. I give them in-progress leaf mold and compost as bedding, so that should keep them happy 😉 ~ Sandra
