Haven't got mine yet but bang for the buck wise , the Fms outperforms a scx24 with 149 dollars worth of upgrades, i cant wait to start moding it already

keeping the driveshafts in phase was suuuper important on my FMS atlas. this thing is similar in terms of driveshafts and especially with how fast it gets them spinning keeping them in phase is a great idea thanks for showing that. Congrats on 10k subs! you definitely deserve it!!

Can you elaborate on the driveshaft in phase orientation? During RC research I encountered the opposite information for high speed driving. That the shafts should not be lined up as to reduce drive shaft vibrations during high speed, which the FCX24 does very much of that high speed :D

The "free reverse" had me cracking up. I guess most really don't read instructions/manual especially since it explains it on page 11. Appreciate you answering questions and keeping us well informed.

@@2fmrc I was not having the forward brake reverse feature. Kept messing with the dials only to have it zip across the floor in reverse. Figured there was some reading of the manual in my immediate future lol. Glad I found it.

Another thing you might try to weaken the shock springs is to heat the springs with a torch to take some of the temper out of them. We used this "cheat" on a 1:1 Chevy Monte Carlo stockcar race car. The rules said that everything had to be "factory stock" which meant we couldn't cut the springs or put any fancy racing shocks on it. But by weakening the springs we got the car to "squat" for a lower ride height lower center of gravity. We would weaken the "center" area of the spring, leaving the top and bottom parts alone. The race techs never spotted it because we would paint the weakened area black. As the saying goes in racing circles; "If you're not cheating, you're not trying."

Green slime works real good inside these kind of shocks, Just use a toothpick just a little Dab will do yeah😁 and lubricate the inside of the cylinder been working great for me

Thank you for your great videos. I literally just got it this morning and revisiting this. One thing I noticed is the servo wire isn't long enough. Do you know how to flip the esc? is it glued on? Was hoping for a how to. Thank you.

Hey man I have one these awesome trucks and I’m thinking of getting an axial deadbolt body to mount on the truck, any tips…?? Also I’m looking around for some good tires with rims and foams that come together and that go straight on to the truck, what are those wheels on the red fcx truck in the back because I love the way they look!! Love the vids they help so much!!

Killin it. Glad I am not the only one thinking this new platform has potential. I just wish it was a TAD smaller (at least 1/20). But yeah, so fun… we need some aftermarket support and I think this will take off. (No, not more than the scx, but def a good second place )

Yeah I wouldn’t mind it coming out of the box a bit smaller. I mean we stretch and widen the scx24 to the same size a lot of the time BUT we have the option. With this thing you just going big no matter what lol

I'd definitely notch that gear out and use a bigger pin.

I have had bad experiences cutting the springs on my 24, it works for ride height in the back but when you do it to the front the body will separate from the wheels too far when trying to crawl upwards

Great suggestions here, I am gonna cut the springs as well. btw, CH3 is a 3 positions toggle switch but this truck has 2 gears (left is slow, right is fast). Do you know what the middle position is really for? I couldn't find the answer in the manual. thanks.

The middle is actually like a neutral on both of mine. It’ll freecoast and not pull at all with any throttle given.

Can you remove the portals completely and still drive it? I wasn't sure if there is that option, or could be an option in the future

Which Treal wheels do you have? I put a set of the type b wheels on mine. Just barely clears the portal but it seems like they will work.

hey my remote is different and doesnt have all those tiny switches do u have an idea of why my remote might be different and how to fix the reverse double tap with the other model

I noticed that I can get more speed if I crank up the throttle trim, but then the car will never come to a stop. How can I set the right throttle ranges?

Mine got stripped gears in portals 6min after running. Get a email saying we will respond within 4 business days. Lol. That's FMS. So could be 2 weeks to get free metal replacements if they do. This is where I feel like it's a great truck but dang. 6min. Now 2 weeks to drive it again. Hope axial is up to something on beating it.

Yeah that sucks! Take the gear out,flip it over and cut a notch in it for the pin in the axle. Or you can heat a small flat head up a tiny bit and slowly push it down into the gear to make the slot for the pin. Once I did that I put a rubber o ring from a ball end off some Scx24 links between the outer bearing and the gear. That keeps the gear pressed against the pin in the axle tighter and helps keep it from slipping. That held me over until I got my metal gears I had ordered.

I don’t wanna add up what’s invested, I just want to play and have fun yeah

How to switch forward reverse? Mine with brake on it brakes after reverse, so if i reverse it's 2 clicks to go forward. 😅

For crawling you want to switch the switch 1,3 & 4 on the transmitter at the top to the up position. That will give you drag brake and forward/reverse with no brake in between.

May be a dumb question buy how much grease is a dab in Each portal axle gear set

It don’t take much. They are plastic gears so really don’t have to have it but it don’t hurt. I usually put just a little on the end of my Allen tool and wipe it across them. It’ll work in when you start running it.

Can't get over the stock body. What mounts would you recommend to use a Deadbolt or JK body to this?

I just use the scx24 ones on mine. The plastic ones fit best with less slop. Most of the metal ones seem to have more play around the area that they attach to the shaft.

No I loved it out of the box. Check my first video before any issues or I had any dealings with them at all. I was a little bummed when I thought I stripped the gear but it actually didn’t really strip. I also was worried about parts support but they did exactly what they said they would do and had parts available exactly when they said they would so I can’t ask for much more than that. I’ve bought several axial products (ryft especially) that had back ordered parts for months after release. At least they did what they told me and had parts quick. Now hopefully they offer the upgrades this month like they said. If so the scx24 is gonna be playing catch up soon! It’s just that good! Way more fun to me with this 2 speed. I’d rather drive my almost completely stock fcx24 than my $800 Scx24 that I just built. I really don’t even care about driving it! That’s gotta say something lol. I’m not a paid spokesperson for them at all. They are sending me one free truck and I didn’t wanna say no because I’m gonna give it away on the channel. Ive spent thousands and thousands on Scx24 stuff so I’m not really gonna sell out for a $160 truck! Not worth it lol. I became an affiliate with fairrrc because why not? I’ve been an affiliate with amazon and amain for a long time. If amain had the parts for these then I’d probably be linking them there but for now all we have is fairrc 🤷🏻‍♂️. I’m hoping they’ll give me a discount code because in the end I’d prefer to save everyone a little money on their orders. People also don’t see the insane amount of stuff that I get sent that never even gets brought up on the channel because I don’t really think it’s that great or I don’t personally run it.

Hahahaha, the nice thing with the Scx24 is the product support. There is so much out there to mod them. The Fcx24 doesn't have that yet. Hopefully it will. That's my 2cent bro!!!!👍👍👍

@@mikemangiameli561 I only have one scx 24 when you start to put the same amount of money for upgrades as you did for the whole thing and it’s always having a problem here and there and you can’t take it out that’s when you buy the fcx or spend more money on the scx
