I would make Waterfall and Aqua Tail multi-press moves. Waterfall could be kinda like Surging Strikes, where you get a dash for each press up to 3 dashes but you need to use them before the timer goes off, same with Aqua Tail, each button press releasing a wave.

I could also see them changing Aqua Tail to be a bit more like Greedent's Bullet Seed -- let you move around a bit better while casting it, and make it so CC only interrupts the move, rather than completely canceling it.

Fun fact the second ability in aqua tail can also be used during waterfall. This means you can get the shield and that giant half circle in the same move. It doesnt do as much damage as charging it but it also gives mobility and it low-key has super armor. Not hindrance immunity super armor. They take hits and then keep going after the cc ends but in a way where you kinda never stopped moving.

I think they shouldn't overbuff it. Maybe a little more attack speed on magikarp. Currently it feels like i am playing it on high ping. The only buff i think should be life steal on aqua tail and increase the time limit on the final wave(it just gets cancel too easily)

Though I don’t see myself picking up Karp because the mini game of evolving would drive me nuts, I still love the build explanation at the start of the video!

Jake all i care about is that you're jungling gyrados and make sure your evolving at 7:30 ( like that troll from the stream last night😂😂)

While i would love more clear synergies between the moves, i think that ship has sailed. So for buffs theres probably 2 things i would do: buff aqua tail of course; probably give it complete unstoppable. And the other one is i would lower the "big" pop of magikarp scoring points from 10 to 7. I feel like 7 fits the money of early game way better than 10 does, whilst still being difficult to actually score if the enemy team pays attention properly

Ive been a fan of the crit build

I loved Gyarados with EXP share, Attack Weight and Focus band. It was definitely my favorite climb to masters to date. Gyarados starts slow but becomes this objective stealing monster

aqua tail feels so clunky to me and i think the main reason it does for me is that you cant choose the direction you move when you shoot out the slashes. i really wish i could move back but still shoot the slashes foward, instead of always having to move forward to shoot the slashes.

If i were to buff Gyarados, maaayybe i would give Magikarp's 2nd move at lvl 2??? Not really a buff just a small change

I would make dragon breath usable during waterfall like how dragapults breath works. Something like it breaths after every dash

You can use Dragon Breath between dashes, it just doesn't reset when you use Waterfall.

I think the only real buff it would need is increased movement speed the rest of it kit seems pretty legit

To buff Magikarp, I'd make its moves and attacks combo a little better. Less endlag on splash, flail & basics so you can time your splash into flail/basic to steal last hits better. Gyarados I'd change Waterfall so that you can whiff the first dash and always get the shield when you hit the second dash. Aqua Tail is just too slow and clunky. I'd make it so you can slowly move while charging Bounce and have the shield build up over the charge instead of not being there until the move is used past the charge threshold. And you should be able to active battle item during the Unite Move.

Warerfall is clunky for sure but it covers so much distance!

Give aqua tail the rapid spin treatment. Doesn’t have to be full cc immune but stopping all the little cc would be nice

Score shield instead of claw for the 10 point karp dunks.

Aqua tail should just let you reactivate the move a few times so you don't get stunned out of it, instead of having a long animation

I like waterfall as well even though people say its crap its really not. Will say if you have a waterfall pending you cant score either. not sure if it was a bug or intended.

What about rapid scarf with dragon breath I've also been experimenting with muscle band and weakness policy

honestly i feel like either muscle band or scope lense would be better than razor claw

I'm constantly surprised by how much damage dragon breath does on top of already being an attack speed steroid in the first place

I really want to like Gyarados but I don't know. Maybe I need some practice or maybe it isn't for me, still it's a cool Pokémon.

Honestly there’s only two buffs I’d really give Gyara. Give Aqua Tail life steal and allow it be used after each Waterfall. Would give Gyara more sustain in big fights which it feels like it kinda lacks and grant it more synergy with Waterfall which would be nice since the other build has some good synergy (Landing on someone with Bounce after they’ve been hit by Dragonbreath knocks them up). Maybe give Karp a bit more attack speed but that’s not as necessary to me. Magikarp’s whole deal is struggling to reach the summit afterall.

Waterfall is weird how do you play it, playstyle-wise

1.MiMikyu or Leafeon 2. MImikyu or Metagross 3. Metagross or buzzwole

Agree that they are probably good items for an aqua tail build, but aqua tail only works in very rare situations where the enemy doesn't have a lot of cc or they decide to ignore you. It does a lot of damage with high scaling when you get the empowered hit, but the tail swipes before that are way too slow and easily interrupted.

I just noticed that cookie gives u around 200+ hp but resonant guard gives 400+ so why no one uses guard instead cookie

Sadly waterfall+ will never have the same place in our hearts as water pulse+

Gyarados buff: -> can basic attack between waterfall dashes.

The main Buff I'd give Gyarados is to make it scale better into the late game. Maybe make Waterfall have 3 Charges that you can use at just about any time and grant all the current bonuses to the individual Dashes (just on a weaker scale for the shield anyway) rather than 3 Back to back Dashes with the effects only applying for hitting multiple. Also let Gyarados aim Bounce when moving.

Never understood why people don’t like stacking on Gyarados. Especially in solo q scoring may be your best chance to evolve and Gyarados could use the extra health. Attack weight is just fantastic in general.

why doesnt anyone lean into the early game scoring for evolution? i feel like magikarp is the 1 pokemon where score shield is super viable but i havent seen anyone using it to get those 10 pt scores

Y'all sleeping on aqua tail. It does over 1k damage per hit at level 9, and the second activation does over 2k. I think wanting it to be unstoppable is missing the point. It's a ranged ability. Play it like a physical mage and it's ridiculously powerful.

Does Stacking Cookie and Weight affect Gyarados Passive when it evolves and gets an increase in its Hp and Attack?

Scoring with more than ten points increases you're effort gauge a lot more than dunking less than ten points.

I still don't think Karp needs a buff. The things a game changer. We were ahead of another team until the Karp evolved and they dominated us. I think it's kinda well balanced assuming you have good defense at the start.

Hey spragels i have a question that doesn't have anything to do with the video but i honestly just wanted to see what your perspective or opinion or whatever is on it, but why do you think it is that the majority of people who play pokemon unite always do stuff like set their profile to private so you cant view theirs or turn on the anonymous setting so that you cant tell when their viewing your profile if its not private. I just ask because its weird i swear almost all the players i come across lately are always setting their profiles to private
