Love the ranking list so easy to understand
As always, great useful videos.
Really appreciate the ranking system and discussion!
Love this style of reviews.
Got a floor model ASKO during the pandemic as it was the only panel mount dishwasher available, turned out to be a great dishwasher, the fan really does pull all the moisture out at the end of the cycle and every single part feel solidly made, very expensive feeling parts all around.
Have had that LG for 8 months and love it.
I'm still an LG skeptic but reliability rating is promising. You guys need to review the filters because some of them (KitchenAid higher end for example) are problematic long term. I'm a believer in old style spin out filters
I've been pleasantly surprised by my LG dishwasher that has the steam function. It's not the quietest dishwasher I've owned, but it cleans better than anything I've had in the last 20 years (GE, Kitchenaid). Hopefully it runs for a long time.
We installed a GE GDT695SSJ4SS about 4.5 years ago. I'm happy with it, but feel that it's a bit louder than when new. Back then it was barely audible while standing in the kitchen. Now, from the living room you can occassionally hear when a solenoid opens. Bookmarked this video for the day (please God soon) we buy a larger house.
I really appreciate that you compare a full range of appliances and review a large number of them. It's great to get so much expert information in a single place. I would like it if there were additional pictures of the appliances - inside, etc, while you are discussing them. You're both handsome guys, but more pictures of the appliances would be more helpful. Thanks.

I agree with OP: watching somebody open and close doors and racks, put in and remove some plates and bowls … Our dishwasher is good but the bowl racks are oddly spaced - we can only put our bowls in every-other slot - but so far apart that 6 bowls completely fill the front half of the bottom rack.
We installed a LG (cannot recall the model number and it is running right now so cannot look) and it cleans great but we are not super pleased with the racks. The bottom rack is hard to move when it is full and often “jumps the track” and is hard to re-track.
Does the Bosch 800 have the water softener?
I saw a innovative design in a model house where the dishwasher was raised about a foot off the ground. It minimized the bending you have to do when loading/unloading.

I had a couple people think im crazy for saying that some of the LG dishwashers are actually pretty good, glad to see I'm not that crazy! I dont remember the model off rhe top of my head but my mom has a model similar to this one here, no steam, but does have Quad wash. It has by far been of the the best washing dishwashers i ahve used. The amount of crud and testing i have done with it personally, and it still produces clean dishes, is amazing to me. As long as you use a good detergent, and the correct cycle, they work vwry well. The extra dry reslly does help too, though it does take longer.

Have a basic Miele dishwasher - it is fantastic except the drying. Also have a Midea dishwasher that is comparable to the Bekos. It is not terrible but would not buy again. The racks are hard to use and already started rusting after 5 years. Will replace with a 5000 series Miele. 3 times the price but worth it for the longetivity.

You are paying more for the Miele dishwashers because it lasts up to 20 years. You need to make this clear. I have just replaced my Miele dishwasher after 19 years with a very similar model that you are testing. Used almost everyday. They also use less water and energy. It’s Amazing the new model. Although it's more expensive than what I had originally plan to pay, I am leaning toward the Bosch 800 series. Every single review I've seen place them near or at the top while other brands have varied. It will be replacing my old Maytag which was then top of the line, but after its last complete failure which resulted in a flood that had me replacing floors and walls throughout my house, I'm done with Maytag. At this time, I just don't trust LG outside of televisions.

@@Ikey04-ge9gy I have a LG dishwasher that keeps throwing AE errors. Supposed to have a service tech out here today, actually. This is the first time I've seen LG recommended as an "S-Tier", but it looks like one of their more expensive models. Mine was $650 rather than $950, so maybe they use better...whatever it is to make it not break down as often? It's thrown 3 AE's in 2023 alone. Have owned it for about 2.5 years now. Obvi out of warranty, so...Looking at replacing with a Bosch 500 after hearing so many sealing and mount failure complaints about the Bosch 800 (otherwise, I'd happily go Bosch 800). *MAYBE* go with a higher end LG dishwasher, but I'm not sold at the moment. However, I have a LG refrigerator and it works like a champ with no issues what-so-ever. Maybe my dishwasher is a victim of being a "pandemic-era build".
It might be worthwhile mentioning LGs flat rate repair service that almost seems too good to be true.

Nah, they've been reliable for a long time. Before their linear drive compressor issue, I recall that hotels had pooled their appliance repair numbers and Goldstar, which was what LG used to be called, was by far the most reliable and when Sears was still big in appliances their numbers also showed this (it's why they had their Kenmore line be made by LG). It's a shame they've succumbed to moving their manufacturing outside of their country as when they built their linear drive compressors there, they were solid.

I have a hard time to figure out what S A B and C stand for, so the ranking is meaningless. Anyway, I had a kitchenaid unit, bought in 2013 for about $1500. Many plastic shelf components broke after 3 years. Even worse is that it started leaking after 5 years. I spent about $300 to fix the leak, but 2 years later it started leaking again. I bought the s-rated LG in 2019. It came with 1-year std warranty and wouldn't you know it, it started failing at 13-months and LG refused to stand behind the product. What's worse, my repairman isolated the motor as the problem and the unit has a large metal sticker on the door announcing a 10-year warranty on the motor! He notified LG in an email of the issue and after 6-months of arguing with them they still refused to honor their warranty. I will never buy another LG appliance again!!

none of the newer dishwashers are actually "more efficient" because they run 4 - 5 times longer amd dont even dry as well as the older dishwashers. Using less water and more electricity doesnt make them cleaner, dryer or "more efficient"

I would not purchase a dishwasher that has a filter that needs cleaning. I have a new Maytag, has same water cleaning system as the Whirlpool. Continuously cleans the water without extra water usage.
Dishwashers (and all appliances now) need to be compared by longevity. To have a relatively brand new dishwasher suddenly burn out - it's unacceptable. So tell us which one last the longest. Quality - not fingerprint-free - is what matters most.

All the reliability percentages you give are within the first year...what about long term? Everyone expects their dishwasher to last at least a year without issues...what about 5 years? or 10 years? Everyone expects their (appliance) to work perfectly in the first year, but that's not reality, and understanding which brands tend to have more faults / fails in the first year is good information. A brand with 12% first-year service need is less likely to last 10 or 20 years than a brand with 6% first-year service need.
